So far, works better than the brass!
Purchased for our automatic livestock waterers after a constant battle with the brass ones for a few years. You'd think the brass would be better, right? Not so much. They develop buildup much faster and prevent the valve from shutting off completely... which is a bummer in the summer but an absolute nightmare in the winter. We're still waiting to see how long the plastic ones hold up but unless they fail pretty soon I recommend these over the brass any day... plus, cheaper? Too good to be true.

Perfect replacement
I needed a replacement for an old brass valve. This one was great, especially since the discharge is directly down, keeping the spray contained.

Simple and reliable
Using this to top off my Koi pond. Algae can grow and sometimes it seems to be prevented from full closure by the sludge and remains partially open causing my well pump to continue to run. Not sure this is a major fault with the unit or more likely a fault with my environment.

Overflow Control
In my indoor Aquaponics setup, I needed too keep water flowing from the glass fish tank too the sump tank and wanted too make sure neither over flowed. I use one of these in each too keep things balanced.

Worked for about 2 months or less. After that ...
Worked for about 2 months or less. After that the little handle that holds the ball float rod broke off. Been using it without the ball float. Defeats the purpose. Buy the brass valve by Mueller Industries under B n K 109-813 for the same price.

A good choice
I bought this to maintain the level in my hydroponic system reservoir. It works perfectly I have a gravity feed and the large orifice lets in plenty of nurturant solution. installation was easy and the valve shuts off tite.

Works as I hoped and solved my issue
Added this product to a pond filling system and it seemed to solve the issue with the original float valve. I had to purchase a float bulb and arm as well. Arrived quickly and in good condition.
