The picture quality is great, both in color or using the night vision. I am glad I chose the power over cable (POC) network video recorder (NVR) system, rather than the power over ethernet (POE) network video recorder (NVR) system. With POC, the live video feed is smooth, almost like watching live TV.All the dozens of youtube videos I watched with units that used the (POE) platform had very choppy video feeds. The reason why (POC) is better than (POE) is because the video signal is processed using the (NVR), which ruduces the latency issue. The (POE) platform uses the much weaker chip in the camera to process the video signal before sending it to the (NVR), which causes an increase in latency.Accessing and viewing your system from a remote location, via the app, is an awesome feature, which also has very little latency issues.The (POC) system is just as easy to intall, setup, and operate as the (POE) system. I do recommend this system / security package as it was the only one that I could find that offered 8- 4k cameras with a 16 channel NVR. And yes, will be adding a few more cameras to my system.

I don't even want to give it 1 star.Can't view cameras from phone if I leave my house.Customer support is the worst I have ever experienced. You get an automated voice saying they will call you back, and after 2-3 hours, they might do that. Once they do finally call, they instruct you to do somethings and say that should fix it, but it doesn't. Then you get to call just to go through all the same nonsense all over again....SO FRUSTRATINGMY CHEAP WALMART NIGHTOWL SYSTEM WAS A MUCH BETTER LESS OF A HEADACHE CAMERA SYSTEM.

I Have 4 Swann systems for my business. all are excellent quality.The only small issue that I have is that at times the phone app losses its connection and I have to uninstall it and reinstall to re activate.

I had to return this item because the cameras were not working right. Overall this appears to be a very good surveillance camera system however something was wrong with the cameras. I spent several hours going through the manual and double and triple checking to make sure I was not doing something wrong. I am experienced in setting up video surveillance, this was not my first time using equipment like this. Only when I was certain there was a problem with the equipment did I return it. Company gave me a complete refund. I like that. I would certainly be open to buying from Swan again. I think this was a rare case where the cameras were damaged somehow. But everything looked to be brand new. But ultimately they gave me a complete refund and the process was very easy .

Spotlight already deterred a car entering my driveway at 5:15 am with the car lights off. They triggered the light and left. Image is fantastic, but 1080 resolution might be good enough. I added another camera to cover back of house and very happy with results. You will get a lot of triggers, so creating some blackout areas and trigger points is needed. But the systems works well and I really like the detergent spotlights on all cameras.Would buy again.

Pros: Hardware works great and is easy to set up. High res looks great. 2TB isn’t enough if you use many cameras at 4K btw…plan to upgrade HDD or throttle back your res.Cons: If you’re used to software that’s un-necessarily time consuming this is the DVR for you. Their phone app lacks modern features as well and feels like it’s from 10 years ago. Time for Swann to invest in some user experience imo.

Snapshots are always very very very blurry... did say very? And upload of 30 second vids are super low res so unrecognizableYou would think that with todays camera tech someone could do this cloud security thing... evidently none can

Product was shipped quickly and seems great value for money. Easy to install yourself with the right tools. Interface is easy to setup and customise yourself. Overall very happy with this product.
