Thriller was mixed on something very similar to this.One of these speakers is high on the list of things you really ought to have in your studio if you want to make good mixes.Get one.

Must have for any studio !

I love that the best way to get a good stereo mix is to check it with a crappy mono speaker. This does the job... I can always find out exactly how my mids are doing, and how my mix translates to mono with this little guy. I'd give it 5 stars but every once in a while I get a loud crackle if the volume is left up with no source signal passing through.

First the Description by Amazon is not clear about if the price is for a couple or each, i order "ONE" thinking was a stereo couple, before open i order the second one, when the second arrived was DAMAGED, sound like something released inside, the manufacture is REALLY CHEAP, is not a PRO AUDIO product at all, before turn on i decided to return !

As long as you don't expect them to actually sound like s monitor , I guess they're OK, albeit I don't remember my venerable old Auratones sounding THIS BAD .... Or maybe they didFrankly ... I don't remember !

The speakers are not shielded well. When they are plugged into laptop I get lots of buzzing and can't use them for that purpose. Had them mounted on mic stands, but one day I was on knees and put hand on top of it to help me stand up and the metal socket on the speaker base broke loose, the particle board is not very strong. The only good thing is they look nice in cabinets and work ok with electric guitar. They also do fine with an All-in-one PC but I got them hooked up to TV instead. The bottom line is they are over priced and not worth it.

Nach einigen sehr negativen Erlebnissen mit Behringer-Produkten wollte ich die Marke eigentlich für immer meiden. Nun aber doch noch ein Versuch, da ich genau eine solche Zweitabhöre benötige.Das Überraschende: Der C5A ist ebenso funktional wie sein Vorbild, die Auratone. Die aktuell erhältliche aktiv-Version, die Avantone Cube, kostet immerhin derzeit 594 € das Pärchen. Ich hatte sie einmal, ließ sie jedoch wieder zurückgehen, weil ich nicht einsehen mochte, so viel Geld für so einen schrecklichen Klang bezahlen zu müssen.Wieso jetzt also doch wieder der Mut zum Hässlichen? Der Speaker hilft enorm, die Mitten eines Mixes kritisch zu prüfen und zu optimieren. Und das Meiste tut sich in diesem Bereich. Der C5A legt, wie der teurere Avantone, gnadenlos den Finger in jede Wunde. Wenn man sehr gut Mixes professioneller Produktionen auf diesem Speaker prüft, klingen sie so gerade erträglich.FAZIT: Ein nützliches Werkzeug, ein Helferlein, das die Ohren bluten lässt. Die Freude kommt dann später auf, wenn der so geschliffene Mix gut klingt: Im Auto, auf der Highend-Anlage, auf dem iPhone,.... (Die Bässe und Höhen muss man selbstverständlich auf der Erstabhöre mischen.)WARNUNG: Ich kann naturgemäß noch nichts über die Haltbarkeit des C5A sagen. In der Vergangenheit zeigte sich, dass Behringer, um Bruchteile eines Cents zu sparen, bereit ist, den Totalschaden eines Geräts hinzunehmen. Hoffen wir das Beste.

Somewhere in the depths of Amazon's supply logistics, someone or something didn't know that those crafty Germans at Behringer supply these speakers boxed singly, so this "Set of 2" order should have resulted in me receiving 2 boxes, albeit inside another - Amazon - box. No, I just got the one, and then struggled to get the Support guys to understand. So I ordered another pair, and yeah, I got 1 not 2 again. Still, at least I now had the desired pair. A long & detailed email to Amazon resulted in resolving the situation, so I didn't have to pay twice. All of which is a brief detour into the cautionary tales area - i.e. if you order a pair of these, you may still only receive 1.Straight away the speakers are pretty good, and really come on song after a bit of a running in period - I think about 24 hours should do it, I set them going and went away for he weekend - I guess burglars would have been deterred by the rock band rehearsing in my spare bedroom 8-S. Anyway, the running in smooths some of the slight roughness - harshness if you will - present initially. Clearly you can't expect earth-shattering bass from a couple of 5" drivers, they do OK, but I've added a sub to supplement the bottom end. Volume capability is adequate for domestic listening. Connect via phono, TRS 1/2" jack or XLR. The base has a non-slip rubber pad that gives a sound footing on any flat surface, there's also a threaded socket for stand mounting. All-in these are terrific little speakers, solidly built, classically stylish and delivering a well-rounded sound with ample muscle to fill any room you place them in (unless your name happens to be Boeing . . . )

Habe diese Boxen nur gekauft, weil mir die Originale (Auratone) viel zu teuer waren. Ich muss sagen: Sie machen genau das, was sie sollen. Man kann mit den Boxen den Mittenbereich aufräumen. Da Bässe und Höhen nahezu fehlen, sind Instrumente, die sich im Mittenbereich aufhalten sehr gut von einander zu trennen. Man hört genau, wo sich was überlagert und stört und kann entsprechend entzerren. So lassen sich z. B. bei einem Hardrock-Song gute Stimme und Gitarren nebeneinander platzieren.Die Beritones haben mein Mixing enorm vereinfacht.Wer eine Box sucht, um damit Musik zu hören und zu genießen, ist hier aber ganz klar an der falschen Stelle.Wer hingegen wissen will, wie seine Musik auf einem "bescheidenen" Kofferradio, so wie es in Millionen Küchen steht, klingt, der wird hier ebenfalls fündig.
