Quality hard maple wood, perfect construction, very smooth finish. I put a little mineral oil which use for butcher block cutting boards.Ordered one for myself, one for good friend. So pleased that craftsmanship is alive and well, at least with Fletcher’s Mill. The quality of this item will last two life times. Lightweight and hard as a rock quality wood. It came totally smooth sanded and the turn work on their lath is perfection. So glad I chose to purchase from them!

There was definitely a bit of a learning curve at first. It was a bit hard to control. But after a few times using it to make pita bread it was very easy and felt natural. It’s lightweight but doesn’t feel like its going to break easily. And you don’t have to lift it up to change direction, its as easy as just tilting or rocking it to the other side too change direction. I spent awhile reviewing rolling pins, since I couldn’t find one in any of the stores where I’m currently stationed. I settled on this one and it’s more than worth the money. It’s as easy to clean as any bamboo/wood type cutting board so there isn’t anything special you have to do to it.

I bake weekly at a minimum and I finally broke down and purchased a one-piece rolling pin. Best baking decision I ever made. I like it so much more than my old handled marble roller. It is easy to use, easy to control, easy to clean. I only wish that it were slightly thicker, as I have quite large hands; I expect for most people it fits them just fine. If you are a frequent baker, do yourself a kindness and buy a wooden roller. It'll be the best $20-couple kitchen item you'll purchase.

I have my Mother-in-law's old rolling pin that I use for so many dough tasks, but the one tool I use exclusively for pie doughs is this rolling pin. It's easy to remove left over dough by using a bowl scraper, the weight of the pin is perfect and I find the shape absolutely essential for pie dough, so I wouldn't use any other type of rolling pin.

I love it! I love how easy it is to clean and drys quick. It didn’t stick to my dough although I do use flour but even with past rollers the dough still stuck with flour on it. Easy to roll and made a nice level roll out. I especially love that it’s made right here in the USA, we need to support our country, our people who make a living off of what they make. This roller is high quality and cheaper then others for the type of quality you receive.

So, I waited more than half a century to recognize my grandmother's old rolling pin wasn't the best design for rolling in dough. Now I have a French rolling pin and this medium-priced selection will take some getting used to. Pasta dough came out much better using the handle-less type, so I'm sure I'll be glad I have it once I get more comfortable using it.

I'm so happy with this rolling pin. I wanted a french style pin because they're easier to manipulate. This one is also a good weight - heavy enough to work well and light enough that my (puny, little, stickperson) arms don't get too tired when I use it. It's good wood, looks and feels great. My only real downside is that it's so long it doesn't fit in any of my drawers. But honestly, who cares? It's so pretty on my countertop and there is no need to hide it away. It's a great pin at a great price and it would make a nice gift.

Its essentially just a dowel, but its very nice quality. The finish was incredible out of the package, but unfortunately as soon as it touches any moisture the grain raises and it becomes very rough. I buffed it with a kitchen towel and a mineral oil / beeswax finish and its become smooth again. It would be nice to see a simple item that's relatively expensive like this be finished for use from the factory (raise the grain with water mist, then final sand, like they do in high end cabinetry). Otherwise, it makes a mean neapolitan style pizza dough.

I regret buying this item. I find it is hard to use and to clean. The dough always stick in it even when spreading some wheat over it and using some oil. It’s dimensions is making it Hard to use . It is so thick in the middle and I think it should be thinner from the middle more in order to make it more handy. I m currently keeping it on the shelf and using other cheaper tools which do The job much better than that one

Excellent product, smooth surface, solid construction, build to last a long time if the proper care is taken. Not the cheapest one, but there’s a reputable company behind it, the quality is great and I always prefer to support local/regional business.
