Super fun for adults too to save bugs

Hours of fun!
My son absolutely LOVES this toy. I have even started ordering them as gifts for kids in his age range of 4/5. It works perfectly! The motor doesnt have crazy suction but it is definitely enough for little bugs like ants. Keeps my kiddo happy for sure!

Helps keep squash bugs under control!
I know this is a child's toy, but I wasn't willing to shell out the big bucks to buy a more professional model. I did a lot of research before picking this model, and this bug catcher worked well to drastically curb the population of squash bugs that were going gangbusters on my pumpkins. It works best on the smallest bugs. If you are trying to catch a bigger bug, you have to scoop the bug into the opening (break its hold on whatever it's grabbing onto). Remember to leave the magnifying glass portion open when you're sucking up the bugs, and close it afterwards or they'll crawl right back out. Even though the suction isn't necessarily strong enough to pick up a full-grown squash bug (similar to a stink bug/box elder bug), scooping them into the barrel and then tapping them into the collection section works well enough. I have NOT tried it on house spiders, so can't attest to its efficacy there. I really like how you can disassemble the barrel to clean and easily dump the bugs out - the "barrel" detaches from the chamber that holds the bugs, and the chamber detaches from the handle. Afterwards, it's pretty easy to dump the bugs into some soapy water, even if the magnifying glass gets in the way a bit. I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone that is fighting squash bugs. (Make sure to also remove their eggs from leaves and seal in a ziploc baggie!) After a few days using this gun, I'm down to finding maybe 5 squash bugs a day, tops.

Broke very quickly
It worked really well.... for a little bit. Used it to catch spotted lantern flies, very easy to use and worked great. Even came with batteries! But after only using it for maybe ten minutes- not steadily either- over a few days, it quit working. Changed batteries, didn't matter. The green light was on so it had power, it just stopped working. No damage, was not used by children, kept dry, nothing had happened to it. So while it was great when it worked, it definitely didn't last long enough to be worth the money. I will absolutely get another one but I'll try a different brand. I didn't get the closed box version so maybe it had been mistreated before I received it, idk. Shipped quickly though.

He still thought it was awesome, and the take apart design is a great ...
I gave this as a birthday gift to my outdoors loving little brother. There is hardly any suction, and the only bug it really picks up successfully are very tiny bugs. He still thought it was awesome, and the take apart design is a great idea. I just wish there was more suction, so he was able to get all kinds of bugs easier.

Second One I've Gotten To Catch Bugs In The House . . . .
Some years ago, I got this bug gun, along with a bug container, from Amazon Vine to try out. Instead of getting a child to test the gun out for fun, I ended up just using it to catch bugs in the house, that I wanted to release, not kill. It did a good job and lasted at least a few years. Some bugs, such as flies, are impossible to catch, but spiders, moths, beetles, etc. are easy. I often leave the screen on the glass door open for a few minutes, when I go outside on the back porch during warm weather, and bugs will make a mad dash inside, especially at night to the light. :) When the gun died last year, I was hesitant to get a new one since there were quite a few current bad reviews. I missed the easy way it caught bugs, though, and got a new gun for this summer. So far, so good. The new one works just like the old one. Have caught spiders and one beetle. If the gun has a short life, I will update my review, but hopefully will not have to do so. Oh, the required 4 AA batteries were already in the gun and are running strong. Plus, the gun did come in the original box, in a plastic bag.

Check product before giving as a gift! Or buy a brand that is NOT Nature Bound.
Nature Bound includes batteries with this product. However, they choose to place the batteries in the battery port. Bad idea. I received this product with the batteries so corroded the port itself was corroded. This product would not work even after replacing the batteries. Very disappointing as this was a gift my grandson opened on his birthday. I ordered him another bug vacuum but I did not order Nature Bound!

Works great for pest control
My girlfriend and I use this to humanely remove bugs from our apartment and it works excellently. Fruit flies and other similarly small critters will get sucked through the holes in the catcher and spat right back out, but an easy work around is to simply fit in a layer of tissue behind or in front of the catcher. This allows the small bugs to be sucked into the catcher, but not through it. For anything larger, it works as is. The ability to separate the sections is also very helpful. I haven't had much use for the light yet, but it's a neat feature. It is definitely styled to appeal to children as that was its target audience, but other than that, it is a great design with no apparent flaws. The build, while not extremely durable, holds up to a lot, and the end piece is soft enough that I don't fear shattering it if dropped. Overall, I think this is an excellent product.

Only one in the market!
My 6 years old loves it a lot! The magnifier lense is very clear and we are able to see insects like never before! Suction is not very strong but it's fine. You can't suck ants though, they escape from the holes on the side.

It's a hit!
The customer says "I am terrified of bugs, I'm the person that screams when they see a beetle and I am always hoping someone is nearby so I can bribe them to kill that bug! That all changed when I found this great little bug catcher. First of all the design is fun and it makes you feel like a kid again just holding it. I have caught and released a few bugs with this, its more humane that killing them. If you want to kill them because your afraid it may come back then you simply vacuum the bug and then release it in the toilet and FLUSH. If your a bug hater like myself this is the tool you have been dreaming about! Simple to use and very effective."
