Q: Can these be used for holding the hands on an old clock. There is a small hole in the narrow shaft where I believe a pin was once inserted.

The Clock taper pins are of multiple sizes and from my own experience you are more or less sure to find one that fits. I ordered them without knowing the size I required for an old ship's clock and within minutes I had found one to fit when my Amazon parcel was delivered. Only snag is that you then have 99 spare ones !!!!

They all seem to be cut about the same length of approx 24mm.

The smallest diameter is about 0.75mm
