Great carrier at a great value!
I read some of the lower reviews before purchasing this carrier, and thus I was a bit worried about having trouble popping the top up and down. But fortunately I had no problem at all as long as I handled the top while not attached to the bottom. I like this model compared to other cupcake carriers I've seen because the holes that hold the cupcakes in place are not too deep. Most other holders have deeper holes that make it difficult to remove the cupcakes without damaging the frosting job. This one is just right so that the cakes are held safely in place, but you can still get your fingers beneath the frosting to pick them up intact. I read one criticism that the carrier isn't sturdy enough to carry by the handle only. To be honest, I wouldn't trust any carrier full of 24 cupcakes enough to hold them only by the handle. That being said, I have held mine by the handle for brief periods with a problem. However, to be safe, you should always put your other hand underneath the base. The only thing I wish they would change is that the top tier of the cupcake insert does not attach to the base. This means you have to be careful when removing the lid because the inserts can easily shift. Just a few notches or something similar in the base would easily solve this issue, I believe, so I hope they'll make an updated version. In summary, this is the best cupcake carrier I've found for this price and I highly recommend it!

Perfect! Big size and sturdy!
I bought this because I'm taking a cake/cupcake decorating class at Michael's and needed something to transport the items back and forth to home. This is an excellent product--I'm in love! (Other people in my class have it, too.) It's huge so you can really fit a large cake in it. Plus, the fact that it transports so many cupcakes is amazing! It takes a big push to get it to expand (I push from the inside rather than pull so I don't damage the handle), but that's good because I wouldn't want it to be too loose anyway. I haven't had an issue yet where the handle has broken (which some people have complained of on here). But it seems pretty sturdy to me. I like the three locking clips, too. A couple of tips: first, the cake would definitely slide around (as would any in any transporter). I put a square of black meshy stuff (like you line your cabinets with) on the bottom and no problem at all--everything stays where it should! The cupcake holders stay in place when the lid is on because they're designed to fit the size of the carrier, so I haven't worried about them at all. I love this product and would definitely buy it again. Just to note: it is large on the bottom (way easier to store than the others since it collapses, but it's bigger than them circumference-wise).

Have cupcake will travel..
Love this cupcake holder. I found myself making cupcakes more often than cakes, but hated trying to take them places. They always would slide around in a box, mess up the icing, and then be hard to get out of the box. I found myself saving the plastic muffin cases you get in the grocery store so I could take cupcakes places. This solved all of those problems. Now I can take cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, or even a pie somewhere without it getting messed up. I love that the carrier is collapsible so it doesn't take up so much space in my kitchen. Also, the cupcake holders are removable, so you can do 12 or 24 or take them all out and put in a cake or pie. Once you get the cupcakes in each individual slot, you can take the entire tray out and sit it on the table so it's kind of like a display tray also. And, since they are removable, they are easy to wash and you don't have to wash the entire thing if a little icing touches the edge. It is made of very sturdy silicone/plastic with 3 locking clips on the bottom so you know the top is going to stay. All in all a great storage caddy.

Perfect carrier!
I actually bought this for my girlfriend. She bakes all the time (at least 2 cupcakes and 48 cupcakes every weekend). She always had the issue of making a batch of cupcakes, but not being able to carry them. I came across this and thought I would give it a try. Let's just say, I still get Thank You's from her about this carrier. Yes, the stackable shelf for the 12 cupcakes doesn't lock into the bottom, but it is still plenty sturdy when you place cupcakes on it. Another thing we like about this is the fact that the locks on the container do not have designated places. What I mean by that is you can just lock it and leave, while some carriers require you to "line up" the top with the bottom properly before you can lock it.And if you are wondering about the red rubber in the middle... it's pretty strong. I thought it might be thin and easily wearable, but this is good quality. It is a little still to collapse and expand, but it gives me a good feeling that it wouldn't move on me when carrying it. All in all, I would definitely buy this for other people, if needed. We are both very happy with this product.

The least of all evils.
I got 2 of these carriers because they seemed to be the closest to what I needed. There is more than enough room for cupcakes, even with tall decoration. I don't really need the collapsable function, but when compared to the other sturdy carriers, this one seems much smaller. I was tempted to buy Wilton's carriers, but they just seem so huge! When collapsing and expanding, do NOT use the handle! It's not made of steel! I've never had any problem with breakage because I've never done so. The handles actually seem pretty strong. However... one thing I noticed is that when using the handle, which retracts automatically, it rubs very snugly against the lid. There are holes where the handle enters the lid to keep it in place. It's not attached. As it rubs, little plastic shavings fall off into the container! Yeah, I want to eat plastic! Don't they have product testers?! I gave it three stars, because it seems such an easy to discover flaw to have been overlooked. Still, it's the best out of the other ones that are out there now.
