Powerful and high-tech
This is one bright light. Very high quality feel to it. Like most multi-function flashlights, the one button is used to cycle through all the modes. However they added some fancy circuitry to this one. Turning it on you push the button until the mode you want is on. But once you have that mode on for a few seconds, if you push the button again, it shuts off. On other lights you would have to push it enough times to cycle through to the off position. This light is smarter. The light is the brightest LED I had seen in a small light. The other modes are a 180 degree lantern (so you can direct it away from you and not be blinded) and a more common 360 degree lantern.I should also note that as of this review the [only] picture shown is that of the brochure listing the features. The light is silver in that picture. The one I received from one of Amazon's vendors is black. I did not even know they came in black. I like the black better so I'll keep it. But be aware that there are two colors. One possible drawback is the battery tubes. Most LED lights use a battery holder that slides in like a cartridge. This one uses 2 pairs of AA batteries and they slide into precision ground aluminum tubes from the back of the flashlight. It is rare but it does happen that alkaline batteries leak. The white solid residue is potassium hydroxide and will eat up the aluminum. It also tends to make batteries hard to remove. In this light they would be very hard to remove. Its a small risk but I suggest checking batteries in your flashlights and other devices periodically for leaking batteries. In summation, a really nice flashlight and I would buy another one.

A great flashlight, a pretty good lantern. Great "all in one" functionality.
This is a great flashlight. Super bright directional beam, and the lantern functions are very nice around the campsite. It's lantern function will light up a dark cabin at night real well, even when dimmed so you preserve your night vision and battery life. Battery life is good. It seems very heavy duty and durable. I've dropped it a couple times from waist hight onto hard rocky ground and onto gravel, and you can barely see any dents or scratches. The aluminum used is very tough. The magnet in the base is strong and holds the light firmly on any flat steel surfaces, and the fold out legs hold the light upright very well.On camping trips I always carry several flashlights in case one fails. I've had even a fairly expensive pocket-sized LED light fail on me in the field. I bought this one with the idea in mind that even though it only uses one LED for the directional beam, the ring of LED's around the base of the reflector housing consists of many LED's, so if any of them were to fail, there should still be plenty of light to get you by in a pinch. You won't be left in the dark. The only drawbacks in the design are it is perfectly round, so it won't stay put and rolls away if you lay it sideways on a surface that isn't level. I have other flashlights that have a raised "nub" along the circumference to stop them if they start rolling, and that's always been a handy feature. The other slight drawback is there isn't enough tactile "feel" to the power on/off button and the area that surrounds it, particularly if you have gloves on and want to turn it on quickly in the dark. I find myself fumbling for the power button. If NEBO addressed those two issues, I'd find this light to be about perfect.

Design overachiever with functionality quirks.
I have to say that this was one of the most fascinating lights I've had in my collection, and it could truly be displayed on a shelf or coffee table as a conversation piece for techie-types. The way the bezel glides up when twisted to reveal the ring light makes one feel like they are revealing Iron Man's arc reactor, and the stabilizers are wonderful in function and appearance. Using it in the real world, however, is a different story. The main light is advertised as 3,400 LUX, and this is true, but some might mistake that figure for Lumens which it is not. Actual output is 315.8 Lumens, which is bright, but don't expect it to light up a football field, especially with the very narrow beam. The ARCUS 3D light is brilliant in concept, and at first you would think it great as a room light during power outages. Unfortunately the glare makes it unsuitable for reading or board games unless you put a lampshade on it. The worklight, for some reason, turns on to maximum brightness and aimed at your eyes. There is so much potential and innovation here, and if you want a light that stands on the merits of coolness, then this is the one to get. It can be useful in many situations if you adapt to the quirks.

Awesome and versatile flashlight
Incredible and versatile flashlight. Very nice design. The quality is there, as the price reflects, but I feel it's worth it. It's built like a tank and everything fits perfectly as does the twist movement to expose the COB led area light, very smooth. It has 3 modes - normal flashlight, work light and lantern. I like that you don't need to cycle thru all the modes every time you want to turn off the light ... no matter what mode you're in , after like 10 seconds or so, the next click of the power button will just shut it off (if less than 10 seconds between taps, the mode will change/cycle). Smart - I wish all multi-mode flashlights did this. Highly recommended.

Batteries do leak
Went looking for an AA battery for holiday item...went to remove from my flashlight...and the duracell batteries leaked. Hard to tell if one or more but as pointed out in another review, the precision tubes the batteries slide into made it impossible to remove or clean the mess. The flashlight is now garbage. It really was a beautiful device I have used many times but will pay more attention to battery design from here on.Also noticing more batteries leak than in the past. So either pull them if not using the item or have a design that allows for leakage...buyer beware.

Sad
Went through the first set of batteries and then wouldn't work anymore.Yes, I checked the polarity and the new batteries.Probably an ic failure.

Outstanding quality, blows away all other flashlights including maglight.
Wow! Incredible?...couldn't ask for more...very bright! You can't even look at the lantern directly or you will see spots! Someone reviewed the magnet as being poor and not able to hold its own weight (not true) I immediately tested the magnet strength by attatching it horizontally to my toolbox so that the full weight was pulling against the magnet and no problem! I have purchased other tactical flashlights that claimed to be 1200 lumens and this one is far, far brighter...so you can trust this reputable company's rating! Some people mix up lumens and lux...not the same thing people. Nebo doesn't make that mistake. The craftmanship is outstanding. The weight and feel of this in my hand cries out "QUALITY". Machined to perfection. I also purchased the Redline Blast at 1400 lumens...Amazing. I guarantee you will love this flaslight as I do! Just awesome. Sorry Maglight...you have been outdone and are no longer my number one...Nebo is the BEST! Now my one complaint...the picture shows a gunmetal grey body and the description says "grey" so naturally I was expecting a grey (metalic looking) body yet received a pure black flaslight. Mistake...probably, but it looks and works so well I can't see myself exchanging it over colour. Absolutely love this...5 stars period.
