Easy of Installation and Maintenance
I've lived in my historic home for 23 years which has a 130 year old dirt floor cellar and steep steps to get down into the cellar. I've fought lime build up for years but resisted getting a water softener due to the space constraint (view picture) and then the thought of hauling salt down the steep stairs monthly just wasn't an option. I found the Yarna CWD24 on Amazon and it was the answer to my problems. Installation was as easy as you can get and took about 30 minutes. I spent the most time routing an extension cord to the Yarna CWD24 so I could plug it in. Best of no salt is required, so no monthly trips with bags of salt down my steep steps. I will report weekly my observations about my water quality and progress with lime scale removal. UPDATE: 10 days since I've installed my Yarna CWD24 and I've seen a big difference with my water. About 2 days in when doing my dishes I finally saw my dish detergent start producing suds or bubbles and it seems that each day there are more suds than the day before. My toilet bowls stay noticeably cleaner as does my tub. The water feels different when showering too. I'm watching the lime on a couple of my faucets to se how long before they clear up. I have noticed some flaking already. UPDATE 2: It's been another couple weeks and I've noticed two things. 1. The lime build up on my faucets are gone! I'm not sure when this happened but recently I noticed my kitchen faucet sprayer was spraying through all the nozzle openings. I usually have to clean them every two weeks with a toothpick but no more! 2. I've been replacing my old iron water pipes with PEX and cleaning the hot water heater was on the list because I could here the gurgling/bubbling when the heater started up. This is a symptom of thick lime residue in the bottom of the tank. As I finished replumbing I noticed the gurgling/bubbling had stopped. Yarna just exceeded my expectations as it dissolved the lime sediment in hot water heater. I'm totally sold on this product. 3. My interaction with Yarna customer service and follow-up is exemplary (timely and helpful). There were no issues with the product it was follow-up on my registration.

Don't believe the nay-sayers, I was skeptical but it worked
I was very skeptical this would work but thought I would give it a shot for the ease of installation and the cost. Prior to purchasing I read many reviews stating that these devices scientifically can't work and that they are just a scam. Well, I can confidently say that these nay-sayers were wrong even though they sounded very credible in their reviews. About 2 years ago my wife and I moved into a house on its own well, with all original plumbing since it was built in 1992. The water from the well was tested to be good when we bought the house and the previous owners raved about how good the water tasted, we agreed after drinking it. Although the water tasted great, it definitely had a lot of minerals in that caused a great amount of build up on all the faucets and also in the drains, causing flow issues. Even after we replaced the shower heads and remodeled the kitchen we had white mineral build-up within a month on the new shower heads and faucets, plugging the small spray holes and disrupting the flow. After installing this device I instantly noticed an improvement of the water feeling softer in when showering and washing dishes. It definitely lathers better and leaves your skin feeling less dried out. We have had salt water softeners in the past and it made the water feel very similar. After a few days it cleared out all the newer faucets/shower heads and started to break down the build up on the older original faucets. It even caused a leak in the the drain plumbing under one of the sinks because it broke down the mineral build up in the drain around one of the old seals (I was able to fix it by just taking out the sink drain and trap, cleaning it, and just reinstalling it). Additionally, the dishwasher is not leaving spots anymore and the stainless steel sinks have less spots. After a about week we've noticed all faucets are flowing better and and the old fixtures from 1992 are shedding lots of mineral build up. We can now delay replacing them until we do the bathroom remodels we have planned for the future. The kitchen faucets now spray as they are intended to without any plugged holes. We originally installed this device with the hope of cleaning out the mineral deposits in our plumbing that has built up over the years and hopefully restore some water pressure, and after the results I have already seen I am confident that this will accomplish that. Even though the device does not remove the minerals like a salt softener it definitely descales pipes and improves the quality of the water for our use. DON'T BELIEVE the people that say its a scam or the guys who says he's an electrical engineer and his wife has a few chemistry degrees and call it a pseudoscience scam. The proof is in the results! The only regret I have is not getting the next bigger model that is rated at pipe sizes larger than 1". I assumed my pipe feeding my pressure tank was only 1" but realized it was 1 1/4" when I went to install it. Instead of returning it for the larger one, I just installed it after the pressure tank where the pipe is smaller because I didn't want to spend any more money and I was very skeptical of it working anyway. Unfortunately I won't be able to descale the water going into the pressure tank unless I buy the CWD30, I may end up buying one later on since I am now a believer! Don't be afraid to buy this product this if your goal is to descale your pipes/fixtures, it will do that. Hopefully it will also improve your the quality of your water as it did mine. I typically don't leave reviews like this, but I would have appreciated a review like this when I was researching this product. I hope it can help someone else!

(Updated) Objective test - the device failed; but when replaced with CWD48 it can provide value
Summary first: after 2 months experiment, the device fully failed to prevent calcination on kettle glass surfaces. The calcination could be removed only chemically. The company offered to install CWD48 model instead or in addition. I added CWD48, then waited for 3 months. The calcination on the kettle continues to form, but can be removed easily with the kitchen brush. 5% residue can't be removed. But I can live with that. It justifies the investment. Update: 01/07/22 I installed CWD48 model in addition and next to this one. in few weeks the calcination became soft and can be removed with a kitchen brush. This is a usable solution. The original experiment: I really want this solution to work, so let’s start with 5 stars. However, I was not able to find any credible science to back up the claims. Follow my progress as we have all the ingredients to a clean cut test. Ordering, delivery, packaging are all great. I bought few days before Prime Day and the company gave me the difference when I contacted them. This is the high end model, so there is no reason to say: maybe you should try something stronger. 07/13/21 Setup took me 30 min, as I expected. I used the entire coil and the distance between coils is far greater than half an inch; just a single straight pipe. Attached is the picture of the installation, and “before” pictures of the kettle. It was completely cleaned by a vinegar solution just 3 weeks prior. So we do have a problem, and the baseline for the test. The plan is to clean the kettle in one week from now and see what happens in 4 weeks. 08/09/21 deep cleaned the pot with a vinegar solution (3 new pictures attached) 09/05/21 see final picture :( in the end, the calcination came back. Perhaps, it’s little slower, and, perhaps, the crystallization is slightly different, but all in all, the device doesn’t work to improve the calcination situation on surfaces…

Edited: not recommended
Well I'm giving this a shot. We have a well and pressure tank. Our water maxed out the hardness strips when I tested I five minutes before install. Install is super easy but with limited space I really struggled to get it wrapped around the pipe a minimum of nine times like it said. I saw where someone else said to let it overlap rather than leave a gap so I tried to do that. We live where it's extremely cold and have wires along the pipes as well to keep them from freezing in the winter so I'm not sure if that will hinder it or not. I contacted support through email because everyone said they are amazing, I wasn't super impressed and I'm really frustrated because I sent emails with videos and pictures asking how to do it better, if this was acceptable, if this would work. I just got canned responses back saying to give it time. So no help with install at all, the only helpful response was that it has to be before the pressure tank or it won't make much difference. If you have a lot of exposed pipe I'm sure this would be easy but we have a small area and this has me unsure about whether it will work. The lack of tech support makes me less likely to recommend this as the reason I went with this product was because of the rave reviews about tech support. Edit: It's been a few months. The hardness strips are still maxed out but now there is a white powdery substance on EVERYTHING our water touches. I'm not sure what's going on but I'm not a fan and there has been no customer service assistance. Our water is still itchy and our skin is still rough feeling and our shower heads are getting clogged with the white powder. For this amount of money I definitely recommend something else. This won't help your hard water.

Great product; Great support; Highly cost-effective
BOTTOM LINE: After 3 years... still working strong! Tremendous time-saver and money saver on continually replacing salt weekly to monthly! Customer support is fine also! My first interest in this were the reduction of unnecessary chemicals (salt), the cost and time savings as well as the technology. We have very hard water. The TDS (total dissolved solids) is extremely high. Lots of calcium precipitation with this or the salt-water treatments. Installation location on incoming city water pipe: We installed our Yarna unit before the house water shutoff valve and connected the cord to a standard wall outlet in the basement. We did not use an extension cord. We have unplugged and reinstalled the wrapping coils at least once as we wanted a tighter fit than we initially had. Hot Water Heater to Navien A2: We had an old 60 gallon hot water heater that we replaced with a Navien A2 unit after about 1.5 years of using the Yarna unit. Both are were in our basement installed just below the kitchen. The Navien has a pre-filter so after a year we had it serviced. There were some slivers of calcium buildup in the pre-filter which we removed. There has been no negative impact on the Navien A2 unit so it's working fine. Dishwasher: We have a Bosch dishwasher (15 years old?) that exhibited serious internal calcium (white) buildup on the bottom and sides after we decided to not use the salt-treated softwater approach. Distance from the Yarna unit is about 20' (basement to kitchen). Then we installed the Yarna CWD24 as our city water lines are 1" (CWD30 works for 2" max). After about a year or so, I noticed that the dishwasher deposits were coming off. Additionally, our dishes were looking better with less calcium on them. I eventually purchase the Bosch Dishwasher Quick Descaler (#00312918 - 2 pack). The first time I used it it really (!) cleaned the insides of the dishwasher. About 6 months later, I used it again and the insides are sparkling. So we have a 'new' dishwasher! ;-) Faucets: With such success on the dishwasher, we then went to our faucets (9 in the house - some chrome, some brass). I didn't do the hose connections on the outside. We put CLR in 50% strength on almost all faucets, some with 100% strength and let it soak over night to nearly a week! In all cases we had success. The only issue we still have would be related to where CLR can't get to but these are being taken care of via the Yarna unit's ability to 'soften/eliminate' the calcium buildup in the pipes. Shower heads: Same results with CLR but we were able to remove the shower heads and soak them. Toilets: Inside the water tanks we noticed the buildup and crusting of the calcium which is being neutralized still to this day. We did replace some of the water-closets workings but not all since the calcium made some parts 'hard' (flapper etc.). Some flappers had crust on them that eventually came off - somewhat encouraged by manually wiping these areas and stirring up the calcium deposits from the bottom of the tank to be flushed out. The actual bowl is cleaner also. Shower doors: After years of taking a shower without a softener and then using the Yarna unit we noticed that parts of the shower doors (glass and brass) were losing the calcium deposits (being washed off without any effort on my part). We then started using CLR (1.5" paint brush in a cottage cheese container) and then Kaboom to clean these doors even on cultured marble. I personally like CLR a bit better (used at 50% and Kaboom at 100%) but both work! Both have some 'slickness' to them but it's very minor when you're working in the shower/bath stalls. The shower doors, floor, brass etc all look 90% better but I'm still working on them. Crevices and screw heads take a bit more time. Water taste: Removes salty taste and makes water taste more 'normal'. This may be a personal preference. Cooking: Nothing changed except there's no calcium deposits that occur nor is there any residual 'salt' added. Health: Hard to determine but, with the Yarna unit, we're drinking water without the additives. I would easily rebuy! Actually thought about a 2nd one but I’m told it’s not needed. I don't know how long it will take to fully do our pipes. I don't know of any downsides unless you desire the salt and 'slicker' water.

Does exactly what it's designed to do
This product is designed to help specific plumbing systems, and it does very well when used in the correct application. Hard water, but not too hard. Reasonable minerals, not excessive. This applies to most wells but not all, and where you have very high levels you probably need a full softener. Also note there are two descaling systems that I can see, one that works for 50 feet (which is nothing) and one that works for 1.2 miles (the good one). Get the good one. We are on a rural well with moderate hardness and minerals in the water. 3K square foot house with well over 50 feet of plumbing. This descaler has pretty much eliminated the orange iron stains on bathroom toilets and shower and when there are water spots in sinks or on counters they wipe off easily where they used to take serious scrubbing. We have one stainless sink that always had scale buildup because the drain was not designed quite right and a bit of water pooled and did not drain. No more, the scale is far less and comes off with a light scrub where it used to take soaking in vinegar or Barkeeper's Friend overnight. Super easy to install, you do have to get AC power to it. I put it on the 1" incoming line from our well before it hit the pressure tank. We noticed an immediate difference after installation. Several months in and we have no discernible orange iron staining and substantial improvement on water spotting on glasses in the dishwasher and on countertops. I did not have room in the well closet for a full softener so this was a good solution to keep minerals in suspension rather than removing them.

Super easy to install, But display is prone to going out, But Great customer care makes up for it.
Model-CWD48 POSITIVES: *Super easy to install, (no tools required) *Works as advertised. *Great & Fast customer service. *Beats a traditional water softener in so many ways. NEGATIVES: *It takes a while (about 6 weeks for me) to notice a significant difference in your water hardness, but it does work quite well... Until It Breaks! *The oscilloscope display is apparently prone to failure, leaving you no easy way to tell if the unit is still even functioning. Two days after I installed the 1st one, the oscilloscope display stopped working. I called customer service & they sent out a replacement the same day. They advised me that It's a known problem that they're working to fix, & that the unit IS in fact still working. I used the voltage detector on my stud finder, & found that it WAS still producing electricity, leading me to believe that it was still working. After I installed the replacement unit, it worked for about 2 or 3 months till the display stopped working AGAIN. So I checked it again, w/ my voltage detector, & although the display is dead, it too appears to still be functioning. I called customer support AGAIN, & without question, they immediately shipped out a 3rd unit that I received 2 Days Later. Because of how easy the awesome customer support team made things, & because the product does seem to make a significant difference in reducing the problems associated w/ hard water, I'm going to give it one more chance before I switch to something else. Hopefully the third time is the charm. I'll update this review after I find out how long this one lasts.

Easier set up, cheaper, smaller, and more effective than any other industrial Descaler.
My 4th and hopefully final descaler, purchased the Yarna CWD48 for just 100$ more than than the residential model, just from experience Phoenix residents need commercial level descalers that can handle the Phoenix water 900ppm irrigating at 50gpm. Pros: Fastest install ever, thick copper bands wind quick, outdoor waterproof , so small can put anywhere, live oscilloscope display, (I don't have to use my own oscilloscope to check status of my descaler any more. Treats up to 4" pipe, 1.2 miles, that's industrial grade , it will have no problem handling 900ppm at 50gpg I have been using electronic descalers for the past 10yrs to reduce amount of mineral build up in the kitchen and bathrooms, to make cleaning easy, and less frequent, no ring around the toilet bowl, any calcium build up on plastic shower heads wipes of with a sponge once a month or every other month. Added bonuses: my lawn irrigation drip system and sprinklers have very little build up and require little to no maintenance cleaning/changing heads, Haven't changed a drip or sprinkler head since I moved in 4yrs ago, which is rare in phoenix for drip systems have about 20 drip heads running all year and 20 sprinklers with K Rain (screw on) rotary heads. My misting system requires very little maintenance with a occasional cleaning of a few heads during the year, for a system of 40 misters with 0.3mm orifice this is unheard of in phoenix. This is my 4th electronic descaler : At first I didn't understand the importance for testing gpg/ppm which in Phoenix uses well water in the summer goes as high as 900ppm /52gpg drops to 500-600 in winter when it uses surface water. So Phoenix area residents require a descaler that will go up to at least 60gpg or 1000ppm, typical residential models are not designed for use in phoenix especially when you want to use for irrigation system which is up to 50gpm at 850ppm, you need to buy a industrial/commercial descaler or note the gpm and gpg rating if buying a residental My 1st descaler DIY PCB descaler, square wave generator - noticed enough difference that convinced me descalers do work Cons: low power 12-18Volts ,50 windings, weak inductance, constant frequency pros :great starter model for 20$ Scale Blaster residential model SB-70 - noticed a bigger difference. Pros: good product for 75$ used, would work well in northern cities Cons: had to mount indoors and runs signal wire out through wall required a lot of windings, only up to 19gpg, Industrial/commercial (SB Max older version which treats up to 100gpg) - worked excellent, great product. very expensive retail 999$ found used for 399$ ,very large had to install inside the house all though it is rated for outdoor use I couldn't find the information on heat tolerance levels and customer service via phone didn't or wouldn't give that information cause the model was discontinued, long summers of 120F create internal temps of southern exposed metal machine towards 160F I assumed that would shorten the life significantly. so I ran the signal wire through the wall and had to wrap the wire 210 windings around 3/4inch incoming copper, which was really difficult, would still be using it but after 4yrs of use the wave generator became very loud, since it was inside the house it was disrupting sleep at night, so I gave it away. (Newer model of SB-Max only treats up to 40gpg can't use in Phoenix)

Immediate benefits with potentially excellent long-term value
I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada - an area with excellent water but considered "hard". Hard water deposits build up on taps, produce spots inside the shower, leave residue on nearly all glassware. Additionally, I recently had to replace my hot water tank due to build-up of hard water deposits that impacted functioning and decreased energy efficiency. I wanted a system that didn't remove minerals (like soft water systems), and didn't have the ongoing hassle of dragging in bags of salt, and was environmentally responsible by not having to eventually dump the brine from the soft water system into the sewer system. I've been annoyed by the continual build-up of hard water scale on taps, in the shower and on dishes, and have recently had to replace a 50 gallon hot water tank due to sediment build-up problems and greatly reduced energy efficiency. This product seems to be paying dividends after only being used for several weeks: * Glassware in dishes has fewer or no hard-water spots * Chrome taps and water outlets have significantly less build-up of hard water scale, and the little that is there, is easily removed. Previously I had to use a chemical such as CLR to remove scale. * My wife and I have noticed our toilets stay clean much longer This product does not use radio frequency (antenna), or a magnetic principle to break down the element in hard water that leaves scale (CaHCO3), even though it seems as though this would be the case because there are essentially two coils that wrap around the water pipe. The company clarified this when I contacted them: the two coils create the electronic equivalent of a capacitor - two charged plates - that are created with each coil. An electronic module creates a continuously varying frequency between both "plates" using water flowing through the pipe as the "electrolyte" that separates the plates (my terms). This is why coil winding direction on each coil is irrelevant. The only relevant info is that the coils should be spaced no closer than 1" or 2.5 cm from each other and be wound tightly around the pipe. I have PEX in my home and this unit is installed right after the water meter. As I have a new hot water tank that has only ever been used with this unit installed, it should be interesting to see what impact the water will have on my hot water tank anode and how much sediment builds up in the tank over a couple of years. I always drain my tank and check the anode at least once every 2 years, so I will put a note on my calendar to update this review when I note the condition of the anode rod. Normally, it already starts to break down and become very pitted after this length of time: we shall see. As a last note, the company response time and clarity of answers is world-class. I've never had such prompt attention for any product I have ever purchased. Secondly, registering the product updates the all-inclusive warranty to 10 years from 1. This seems like a pretty great deal. When I purchased my product, there was a $40 off coupon, but if this is not available, it's worth checking on the Yarna website because they may also offer coupons.

Maintenance Free Water Descaling
I recently moved to a new city that has moderately hard water. Many of the older homes have water softening systems that require large tanks and consistent maintenance by adding salt to keep appliances free from limescale build-up. Through research, I came across these systems that do not add salt to the water but use electrical currents to change the composition of the water to reduce limescale build-up. The YARNA water descaler system is well constructed, easy to install, and noticeable reduces and eliminates the water scale build-up that was appearing weekly. It does take a couple of weeks to notice the difference but then the system keeps the water quality without the need for maintenance. Top-quality purchase, highly recommended!

Know that it will perform as stated
The product is neat, clean, compact and easy to install. I will write a further review later on it's performance as I just installed it on February 7, 2021. Feb 15, 2021 Took 15 minutes to install and within 2 days was noticing a vast improvement in well water quality. In less than 2 weeks the brown stains in the toilet bowls are disappearing. I was skeptical that this product would perform as described at first, but I would recommend this unit for use with any household water system. no more lugging bags of salt for me. Don't hesitate to buy this unit, you'll love it.
