5 stars for how much my dog likes to play ...
5 stars for how much my dog likes to play with this toy.2 stars for construction.1 star for not meeting the description of flying over 100 feetMy dog absolutely loves this type of toy. Yes this is not a highly durable product but that is why I put this toy up when I am done shooting it. I have bought several of these toys over the last 6 months and yes the rubber tubing breaks more often than he rest of the toy falling apart. Usually the rubber tubing is dried out or old and that is why it breaks because of this I determine that there are substandard components are being used.Overall I would say this product does have inconsistencies that needs to be addressed by Hyper-Pets. I do appreciate them creating a new concept for my dog.

Didn't last one day.
Didn't last even an hour. This damage wasn't from the dog either, it looks like it let loose from the stress of just trying to launch it! It doesn't fly near as far as the discontinued Pig Slingshot toy. Bring back the pig, please.I also ordered the other listed Hyper Pet flying fowl, and it flew the same distance as this one, and has lasted through the day (but needs to be heavier). But for this one, perhaps they needed to double stitch the area under the 'chin'? I'll try to return it. It looks like it should be more durable, but at least that part isn't.Second one: I chose the replacement, instead of a refund because my dog loves me shooting the toys into the yard. He saw the new duck, and was excited. Six shots in and the seam on the bottom of the head was already separating. By 10 or so times, it was getting concerning as the seams were opening enough I was concerned that it would lose its filling. I'm disappointed, and so is my dog. Just in case anyone is wondering, I never let him alone with this, and still feel, even more so, that the failure is the stitching on the bottom of the head, right at the point where the most stresses of launching it are focused. I'd strongly recommend that Hyper Pet use two layers of full canvas over that area, and also Bring Back The Slingshot Pig, PLEASE...The second picture is the second Duck, and my 7 month old. He wasn't ready to end the session. The problem, for us, is that the 'dog run' isn't very long, and all of the other toys I have are bazooka style launching devices that I can't use yet as they would fly far over the fence. Ironically one is from Hyper Pet, and is amazing. Works so well. Too well?

Worth every penny!
One of the best training based toys I have ever used. I have two large Labs and if I just drop this duck and walk away it will be shreaded in 30 seconds or so. It not good for tug of war. It is not good to keep your dog occupied for hours. If you don't have the time to work with your dogs get a cat. With that said, this training aid gets their attention Everytime! This duck can really fly and will go even further when soaked in water such as the pool or river. My dogs have learned that they get a treat when they bring it back to me. They compete with each other to get to the duck first. This is by no means a durable toy. In the last two years I've bought probably 20. They are not that expensive and I usually order 2 or 3 at a time. Occasionally when it is time to retire a duck I will let them have at it. They do love destroying these duck! And that's all I have to say about that!

Great product for retrieving only.
I really liked this duck. Sturdier than previous versions. Harder to launch if older or have weak upper extremities or arthritis in hands. My Berniedoodle loved it and began playing with it like she was 4 months old again. Unfortunately, she loves to wrestle, play tug-a-war vigorously and whips that duck rapidly and instinctually. Neck finally gave out this evening and stuffing had to be picked up to prevent inhalation or ingestion. If the neck was built up with several criss-crossing fibers like in bullet proofing I think it might hold up to my 80 lb 2 y/o above. I think we should be the test team for any trials of improvement. :)

Great toy except the stitching
Excellent toy. My Lab immediately loved it and I used it to get her to swim for the first time! However, after just one use, the stitching started coming apart under the head. I wish it had been more durable, my dog loves it.

My Lab's Favorite Toy
Simply pull the beak or fit your finger into the beak pocket and pull back on the tail to launch the bird into the sky. The bird flies through the air. My lab can play with this toy until he gets tired of running around. On a good day he will catch it on the fly. He brings it back and drops it at my feet for a treat and we do it all over again until he gets winded. He'll bark like crazy until I launch it again. He does try to rip the wings off and pull out the fluff out if I don't pay enough attention which is why durability is only ok. It still works without the fluff but doesn't fly as far

Very disappointing and a potential hazard
I have bought several hyper pet ducks, pigs, fish, etc....My dog loves them BUT they always snap off at the beak/thumb area. They have hit me and my fiancé in the face and eyes when our hands were ready to launch the flyer but the rubber attachment inserted through the head to create the beak/mouth area snapped off and sent our hands flying back at us therefore hitting ourselves in the face. The dogs love the toys and it breaks our hearts when we have to take away a duck, pig, or fish. But we are concerned that this product is not only hazardous to us but also to the welfare and wellbeing of our dog. I have contacted the company directly and waiting for a reply. Do not purchase these items until the Kansas based corporation rectifies the defects and potential hazards of producing a sub standard product by outsourcing their manufacturing to other countries.

Wish strap was sewn in deeper to be more durable...
Loved playing with this initially with my lab but he's the type that sometimes won't let go or drop the toy. I pulled the toy from him and the nylon strap immediately broke off. We weren't even tugging that hard. Upon inspection, it looks like the strap was sewn about half an inch in only. I really liked this toy and really wish that the nylon strap was sewn in deeper to be more durable and longer-lasting. I ended up throwing the toy out after the nylon strap broke because I don't think it's a safe toy for your dog to play with unattended, considering it has the rubber stretchy bands at the head of the duck. If it weren't for the darn strap breaking off, I would've given this toy 5 stars.

Dog loves it!
My dog loves it. Read the instructions and Don't hold it too close to your face as it will "attack" you if your hand slips.
User
Dont recommend
Doesn't go very far. Doesn't go any further than you would usually throw a toy. Ripped straight away.
