Retro Wooden Pencil Case by MKJAPAN

This is a simple, lightweight pencil box with a hinged lid and a latch to keep it closed. The four sides are made of five thin plies of plywood. The top and bottom are each one ply of the same wood. The top and bottom are thin, but I wouldn't say flimsy. The six sides are expertly glued together. The hinges and latch are attached with screws and are very serviceable. With one or two drops of oil, they should last for decades.With the lid opened, the interior dimensions are 7" long x 2 1/4" wide x 7/8" high. With the lid closed you get a total of 1 1/4" of usable height. (You can add 1/16" to the above measurements. It seems the manufacturerer purposely added this wiggle room.)With the lid opened, this case will hold 24 (8 wide x 3 high) normal six-sided (hexagonal) wooden pencils. It will easily handle seven more and still be able to close the lid.This is not a heavy duty box. I would not recommend putting this in a child's backpack every day for school. It is best suited for indoor use. Mine stays in my desk drawer. As I said, it is a well made lightweight pencil box. It suits my needs and I am pleased with it.

The hinge brackets were rusted, other than that thin construction. I expected higher quality however for the cost it was okay.

The one I used to have in Europe as a child was a bit bigger and sturdier but I love, love, love this one just as much!!!

The surface of this case is too rough, not smooth. It will be a danger for the finger to get embedded by the bits of wood on the surface and the walls inside the case.

Bought two, one for mom and one for myself. This box helps us keep our pencils organized while coloring.

The box is cute, but the material feels cheap. I was expecting a heavier box with thicker siding.
