Read this book. Change your life.
I found a YouTube video last week from 2014 of one of your talks, while scouring for any info on DH I could find. Frankly, it blew my mind. It was like you were talking about me while recanting your stories pre-diagnosis. Led me to purchase your book. I read it in a single sitting. At the moment, I am on Day 18 of a full body breakout. The. Worst. 18. Days. Of. My. Life. I have been asking my GP and every Dr I have come in contact with for yeeeeeears, if all/any of my ailments could be food related...I’ll let you assume the responses I’ve received.I had 2 punch biopsies done today, hoping I will get a confirmed diagnosis in 2 weeks (In the meantime, I’m taking the boatload of prednisone and bucket of ointment they sent me off with). More importantly, I went from being casually GF, to super crazy diligent GF...and well, I’m not getting worse 🤫For maybe the first time ever, I felt confident walking into the derms office today armed with the knowledge you provided in this book, so that I could back all my food journals and other diagnoses with educated facts. This has impacted/infuriated me to the point that I am seriously considering going back to school at 39 to get some med training...serious. I, also a take no BS redhead (Irish-Italian, which is very much basically Polish 😉 ) just want to help and educate others and stop what is essentially senseless violence towards patients that aren’t heard, or seen or thinking they don’t have a choice in how their lives go...So, in short, your book was great. 5-freakin-stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😊

Really clear voice of reason in the conversation about celiac and gluten sensitivity.
I genuinely enjoyed Ms Grzeskowiak’s voice - punchy, no-nonsense, and very convincing. I have recently been diagnosed with celiac and now want to get the rest of my family tested too, for good measure! It’s a strange and overwhelming landscape to try to navigate on your own, I’m grateful for this knowledgeable companion in the journey.

it was an excellent read, very insightful
I was glued to it, no pun intended. I could identify with a lot of the experiences in this book, and short of a curse word that sneaked-up on me, it was an excellent read, very insightful, motivating. The end was a little rushed (?) and rambling, but I'm still glad I was able to get this book and learn so much from it. I felt her despair in my own life, and felt encouraged by her determination to make herself better, and push on even when physicians are not so inclined, willing, interested, or knowledgeable enough to help solve the problem. Read it, it's worth it.

Full of truth and inormation
This fantastic book educated me about inflammation, gluten intolerance, celiac and how it can affect any part of the body. Nurse Nadine's experience with getting diagnosed hit close to home for me. It is a story full of humor, touching sadness, pure truth and frustration with the medical field. I could not put it down! Anyone struggling with getting a diagnosis or already having one will find something in here that will help. The world needs to be educated about gluten. This is serious business.

Awkwardly written but brilliant resource
The way it's written is awkward, but it's chocked full of excellent information about Celiac Disease. I also had the pleasure of some food coaching/consultation from the author. She was instrumental in literally saving my life as my health was getting to be so terrible. It's unnerving the politics around Celiac Disease, and I'm glad the community has such a powerful and educated advocate helping people get their lives back.

Less Memoir than Info on Gluten
I would have liked more memoir than just a book about gluten. As a celiac and nutritionist I already knew most of that.

I'm not crazy, just have celiac.
Amazing book! This made sense of my whole journey from colitis, psoriasis, crohns, diverticulitis, etc. My list of "medical issues" is long and I have believed for a long time that doctors didn't want to diagnose celiac because I wouldn't need them as much. Thousands of dollars later I have so little to show for it except that I am Celiac and now have an answer for all my issues. Thank you so much!

Very informative and honest!
This book is wonderful! I can't put it down. Everything you need to know about Celiac Disease with the added bonus of it being written by a nurse who had been through the medical system and even with her advanced knowledge of medicine was misdiagnosed by many practitioners. It gave me hope to keep pushing and advocating for myself and my patients, to find the root causes of illnesses. Highly recommended for people who want to know more about the disease and who suffer through illnesses that can't be diagnosed by Western Medicine.
