If youโre going to read a positive review, take heed to mine first
Iโll be honest. My expectations were extremely high on this product, and I somehow felt that was true when I hit purchase. I got it, slapped some on my gun with aluminum exposed, and felt a little let down from it not matching the surrounding blacks. So I kept using it a bit more and it definitely stacks the bluing affect if you donโt rub it off with abrasive cotton or paper towel. You have to dabble it and let it dry without blowing on it. If youโre looking to fill a precise gap made from a scratch, this stuff still can do it if you have the minimal patience it takes (~5 mins per 1/2โ^2). For that reason, it blends well on other existing paint. Meaning no โridgesโ are seen. Is the black not going to match? Probably. But you know what you probably arenโt going to do? Cerakote it again or even for the first time, following a low maintained finish. Just buy this stuff if you want a quick fix that seriously is โgood enoughโ since it mutes the silvery tone made from exposed aluminum completely. If you want a brand new cerakote finish, maybe you should start with all of the other supplies to do the entire finish correctly, paired with the work and time to do it. But in my opinion? This stuff is magical. It doesnโt rub off when itโs done essentially corroding the surface layer of aluminum into black. Granted, it still can with abrasives; it most definitely is not as easy to rub off as when it was actively working. After that though, i would confidently state itโs about 80% as hard to scratch again as normal solid paint in a new spot. Highly, highly recommend.

Works Surprisingly Well
This stuff works incredibly well. Iโve used it to touch up small scratches and dings on my firearm and scope, and the treated areas blend in really nicely. It dries quickly and makes minor cosmetic damage much less noticeable. A small amount goes a long way too. Very impressed with the results.

Essential supply for touching up aluminum
Works like a charm for covering up scratches and other blemishes on aluminum finishes like upper receivers. A small drop of this stuff goes a long way, and the small bottle size improves longevity. An absolute essential for people with metal airsoft guns or real guns with aluminum components. I've only used 1/10 of the bottle, and even that was worth the full price in my book. It's easy to store and use as well. I used this to cover up blemishes on several airsoft GBB pistols and to hide completely the ugly white text on the side of my umarex hk45ct. It was a fun project and remarkably easy to get done with this product.

Great for touch ups
I bought this to touch up scratches and handling marks on AR rifles. Application is easy as and results look pretty good as long as you follow the instructions and do proper prep work. I haven't tried it on any large areas.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should..
Can you potentially (theoretically) use this product on an entire raw aluminum upper or lower... yes. Should you? Well Im going to answer that for you. First off, why would anyone in their right mind do this? In short I know there are some people out there that have wondered if this was something you could do. Welp. I did it. Can you? Sure. But with a couple caveats. One being if you are expecting it to have the best finish and quality of the results.. dont bother. If you want it to be perfect you guessed it. Do not bother. Does it have good coverage? Yes if you take your time. Is it worth the coin? Depends on if you are dumb enough to use about 1oz of the product on a large aluminum project. Start your timer when you go to use it. Its suggested to be used in 2 minute blasts. So work quick. Or you could be like me and do your first run in about 6 minutes, then wash. Then go ANOTHER 4 minutes. This worked for me but I dont suggest most people probably doing this either. You can have scaling and poor results from the reaction but you need to wash it in between runs of the BC. Oh and wear gloves and PPE, this stuff stinks. I had to wait until my wife went to sleep before I set up a makeshift lab in the kitchen to do this. Dont tell her.. please.

Fast way to black aluminum
Fast, but some previous work are needed. Not black and sturdy like anodizing, but to touch up some spots it's way good enough
