Impressive and a little bit more than I expected.
So happy with this bike - exactly fits my desires! My other ebike is a mountain bike with slightly less capability, but still used for off road; the swagtron is definitely a road bike, but a very good one even without the assist. I love the three levels of assist choice (or none). Funny story - I knew it was probably just a calibration thing with the meter but after 35 miles the first day I got it, it showed only one bar down out of five for charge. So, second day was going to try and do at least 15 miles to try and drive the battery down. I live up in the hills but some of the best rides are down along the flats near the Strait of San Juan de Fuca. Anyway, so cruised down the hill to try a new route with an aggressive profile...ran out of juice at the furthest point, so was pretty much without assist across the flats and up the hill. The bike was great! A little more workout perhaps than I was expecting, but made it across and up . BTW, I'm not a Mr universe...This is just a decent road bike without the power assist, but toward the end, i have to admit that I was looking for the lower end of 21 speeds. Value for this product? Extraordinary! I saw on the site they are now backlogged but offering a $100 discount. Im so happy to have got the last several available shipped sooner than expected. i would not hesitate as most bicycles seem to be backed up even further. Great bike...exceeded expectations...quick shipping (when they have availability). Not a shill; just think this is an awesome bike for what I wanted. Great range...great flexibility...not sure how it compares as just a throttle ride but there a much better options out there for throttle rides.

Electric power boost is useful
I’m 6 ft 220 62 years old with a long upper body. The bike was a little small -not enough distance between the handle bars and seat. I put in a Hobson split saddle for comfort and raised it- that helped. One cannot raise or extend the handle bars- that’s a limitation. There are no instructions on how to assemble the bike printed or on YOUTUBE- a glaring omission. There us no instruction on how to charge the bike. There is no explanation of the electric display or the gearshift or the throttle. On the plus side, they are user-friendly, and I was able to figure it out. I saw some private YouTube videos of people who bought the bike and I was able to guess what was done. I also learned by using it - because- as noted- it’s relatively user-friendly. I was able to figure out how to shift gears, how to use the throttle and. the display. I noticed that there is a lag from the time I pedal the electric assist mode & the time electricity kicks a second or two. If one stops peddling - the electricity stops, slowing down the bike. The stopping or slowing motor has a kind of drag affect on the bike. I learned to continue a slow pedal, even if it was not needed- to keep the electric assist going. I noticed if one turns off the entire display-Easier peddling. I did a 30 mile bike tour. I did my best to save the electricity available from the battery. I only turned on the display on hills and only used the lowest level-Number one. Flat surfaces- I tuned off the display completely and was able to pedal in the lowest gear easily. That conserved battery and also my joints. I finished the 30mike trip with a hill climb. I had, I believe one bar left. Strangely, it showed one bar when I was peddling electric mode and three bars out if five when I was coasting at that point. There. Is a button on the battery, which, when it’s pressed, flashes between one and four green lights. It said three green lights while the handlebar display showed one bar. To be safe. I assume one bar was left on. My trip was done.Using this method of using electricity sparingly, I believe I could’ve gone even further. The bike performs well in flattening the hills and inclines. it is also 40 pounds which is great for its class – I saw a Cannondale for three times the price which was at least 10 pounds heavier. ( Those who want lighter , electric bikes will find bike stores mifeks with prices north of $4000. )Most of the weight is on the backside of the bike so when lifting the bike on just steps or curbs I did it with the front. I was able to push it up some subway steps, on the New York subway, and guide it down the step down carefully- mostly, I used elevators and escalators when I could..Overall, it’s a useful bicycle for the price for those who can’t handle the hills on long trips anymore. One just has to use it intelligently.

Arrived DOA Dead On Arrival.
The Swagtron arrived on time and new. Everything was there, and nothing is missing. It took me half an hour to unbox and to set up the bicycle. Then , suddenly, everything is going wrong! I cannot turn on the power. I check the battery level; there is zero voltage. I try to charge the battery, but the battery light remains green (no charging taking place). I try to remove the battery; it remains stuck inside the rack. Furthermore, the kickstand won't retract??The seller is Adorama of NYC, not from Amazon which has a convenient return policy for defective sold product. Adorama of NYC only offers me the choice of refund minus sales tax. But I have to pay the cost of USPS shipping back to the big apple. This is how the liberal Left conducts business. Thank you Adorama for ruining my Christmas shopping with defective merchandise.Next time, I will order from Amazon or from Swagtron in Indiana. I am drawing a line in the sand. I make a resolution of not buying anything coming from New York or from California.

Great Appearance in an Electric Bike Design
This is not a real powerful electric bike, yet at my advanced age, it is fast enough for me speeding along at 15 mph on the flat. The bike arrived well packaged and double boxed. Everything was there and easy to assemble with the included tools. There are four riding modes, peddle it like a regular bicycle, mode 1 is light electric assist when peddling, mode two is aggressive electric assist when peddling and mode 3 is electric with or without peddling to include cruise after seven seconds. There is no need to hold the thumb throttle in cruise as the bike will learn hold the speed. Cruise can be cancelled by lightly applying either hand brake. I like the classic style of the bike as most electric bike are just too strange in appearance.

Tire blew in about 2 minutes
Built without a problem. Tires were properly inflated and the tire blew in less then 2 min. Spent a lot of money on this and making payments on a bike i now have to buy a new inner tube for. Yay.
