Really Well Made!
I researched sliders exhaustively for a month before I settled on the Konova K5 120. I read reviews on the Kessler, Glidecam and other brands, reviewed footage on YouTube and Vimeo and talked to several photographers who use them before deciding on the Konova and I wasn't disappointed! Let me qualify by saying I have not taken this into the field yet but it will be getting a work out on a future photo shoot this month along the North Shore of Minnesota and the Gunflint Trail. My only footage so far has been in the studio but I don't expect any problems with the quality I see so far.I ordered the K5 on a Friday afternoon and it arrived the following Monday before noon with Amazon Prime shipping! It was packed very well, with good foam inserts and plastic wrapping all pieces. The box also included the thicker nylon carry back (with shoulder strap) for the rail, similar bags for the detachable feet, a cleaning rag, a detailed manual explaining how to adjust and care for the slider and the required hex wrenches for adjustments. NOTE: Always check all screws and bolts as some can come loose in shipping or might be missing.None was the case with the Konova.I set the Konova up on a larger, heavy duty Manfrotto tripod for testing, using my Canon 5DII with the dual battery grip and a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens so it carried some weight. I mounted the camera rig on a smaller Manfrotto fluid video head and did a few practice runs. Initially I felt a slight rough feeling near the end of the slide but it disappeared after running the slider over the area a few times. Not sure if it was the lubricant being distributed in the bearings or just something on one of the rails but it went away and never returned. Mounting the feet was a breeze with just one large, machined aluminum knob for each end. The feet are fully and independently adjustable, machined well and sturdy. The rail took the full weight of the rig without any bowing or other issues. The tripod head did shift a very small amount as the rig reached either end of the slider but that's because the head was a bit loose and has nothing to do with the slider. It does show you need a very sturdy tripod to support the weight if you only mount it using one support point. For critical work or bigger rigs I'd definitely use a tripod or stand mounted at each end.During slides, the Konova was very smooth and sturdy right out of the box. I haven't yet attempted to adjust the slider tension as shown in the manual but will before going into the field. I don't suggest using the clocking knob on the side of the carriage as is doesn't allow a smooth slide under any tension. I'm guessing it's just there to lock the slide in place during transport or set-up. When using a slider I place my finger lightly on the rail in front of the carriage and use it for tension as I slide. I just let the carriage push my finger in front as it goes and it works like a charm.I also ordered the Konova Timelapse / Smart Pan Tilt Motion Controller Bundle B for K5 120 which hasn't yet arrived (I'm dying for it to get here!) so I can do time-lapse shots of the night skies up on the Gunflint Trail. Check out Vimeo for such video and you'll be impressed! I also plan to use this slider with a Black Magic Cinema Camera rig that has some weight to it but based on what I've seen so far, I think the K5 can handle the weight without a problem. This thing is built like a tank!PROS:Very well made.Good fit, quality materials, well-machined.Built to last and can handle the weight.Easy set-up/break-down.CONS:Bumpers seem a *little* flimsy but adequate for my needs.HAVING TO WAIT FOR MY MOTION CONTROLLER BUNDLE! (We need teleporters!)

Good product but acquiring it is a nightmare
2 stars for Supplier + 4 stars for product = 3 stars For the overall experience.I ordered a K5 120mm version but they send me the 150mm version. Konova tried to convince me to take the 150mm because it is more expensive. the 150 is not portable anymore, I can't load it in my car trunk without hassle. Then I was instructed to return the item which I immediately did. They promised to send the right length the next day. Four days later, no news, so I emailed them and they said they are shipping it the same day.I have to pick up the item one hour before the event where I am supposed to used it. Big mistake, can't rely on timing. I wasn't able to set-up and use it. I lost an opportunity waiting for the right product to arrive, I think I also lost interest using it now that it is in my hand.Others may have a better experience with this product.

Amazing Product
We own a Kessler Cineslider with all the bells and whistles and now just purchased this slider for our business. I will say, with some patience and practice it's hard to tell the difference between the two in post. The Kessler system is definitely more robust, a lot smoother, and built for heavier loads, but of course is very expensive. I am surprised with the quality of the Konova for its price, it is made of very sturdy materials and is not flimsy at all. The Konova moves fairly smooth and quickly depending on how much force you apply and never snagged or felt choppy. It's definitely a lot thinner than the Kessler slider as well seems to be more portable. Taking our Kessler slider out in the field sometimes requires two people to set up and that is with all the motors and gear mounted on it. The Konova feels more basic for quicker set-ups if you are out in the field. I feel I can travel in the woods with this slider searching for a nice small brook or scenic field to capture without the hassle of setup. Of course, I do feel the braking system and tension adjustment controls inferior to the Kessler Cineslider. Kessler has that down perfectly which is a huge advantage over the Konova. The Konova has no real easy way to make adjustments to it's drag or ease into a stop.In a nutshell, you are getting a great product that is very enjoyable to use at a decent price. I highly recommend this to anyone who can't afford a Kessler system.

Great slider!
I did a ton of research to find the right slider. Aside from the price point being very attractive, this is just a very well built piece of gear. I'd been leaning towards kessler for a while, but what what really makes this slider superior to me is the easy and various methods that it can be mounted on a tripod or different stands. I don't think it's advertised very well by Konova, but the fact that this unit can be mounted vertically on a standard tripod (you'll need a sturdy and strong tripod) makes this unit fantastic.Oh....and I received this unit literally one day after I ordered it. Not sure how that worked out and whether they shipped it from somewhere other than korea. Regardless, it was an unexpected surprise.

Great Slider / Great Customer Service
I really like this slider. It's a solid build, has smooth operation and it's versatile.I feel that it's designed well and built to last; at a very fair price too.The first slider that was shipped to me became "lost in the mail" (through no fault of KONOVA's).They shipped a second slider promptly and at no additional cost.Included with the slider is a well made carrying case. They gave me good solid customer service and I'm a happy customer.

Yep
This thing is so well made. I won't go on and on about it but just gotta say I'm very impressed. Super light, machined (not casted) aluminum parts, great of them to include a carry case.Test footage was all very smooth and pro looking. Cannot wait to shoot some nature scenes soon. Will definitely add more Konova stuff to my setup. The pan/tilt head seems like the next logical step.
