I noticed it sprouting in about 6 days of planting it, But then it seemed to die, even tho I watered it. BUT I did plant some last year and it started looking really good this year. So my thoughts are it takes time to spread but once it does you will be happy with the results. my goal is to do the whole yard. It grows but not as fast as the other grass planted which means less mowing, And I can see the weeds in it and I'm able to pull them right away before they spread, which the grass actually seems to keep that at bay considerably. very happy with the Canada grass so far.

I love this product. It works so well and quickly that it is almost amazing. This grass seed works both in shade and sun. It works better than any other product (I have tried many including a lawn service). I wish my most recent experience had been better with the shipment, because Amazon has rules as to what I can write here, I will just say that the bag opened in the box spilling about 1/4 of the bag of grass seed. Instead of working, I was vacuuming and sweeping up grass seed.

I bought this grass seed to reseed bare patches in my lawn n 2023.. The seed was rather expensive but the cost was not an issue. I read the reviews and some were good and some were bad but was convinced this was the way to go. My comments....The description noted the grass would be dark green...quite the contrary. The bag had NO information as to the type of seed that I bought. I found that strange. The seed did bloom in about 7 days which I was excited about but the color was a very light green. I contined to watered the seed faithfully every day. All looked healthy. I waited 5 weeks to do my 1st mow since I wanted the seed to get established..As time went on I noticed the seeded area's began to thin out but I continued to water and was careful not to walk on the seeded areas. Needless to say the seeded area's died out leaving the area's bare again. The area's filled in with weed growth to my disappointment.My conclusion...the seed was cheap annual rye grass that does die back....that's my story folks. Lesson learned buy packaged seed that list what type of seed are within the package.

Folks lets give it some time. It takes this grass so long to break from the ground once planted. I might want to wait until next year to rate it. However it is not so different from other grass seeds, they all take a long time to grow even when watered daily. I have noticed that not all that is planted comes up at all, so I am replanting it in places.

This grass seed is fantastic! I could never grow grass seed well in my backyard…at the time I had 3 dogs and alot of dry dirt or mud…some parts of grass are ok but other areas bad from them running,tried a lot of Scott’s products…this seed grows fast,is durable,grows in crappy soil and even takes lack of water well…definately great seed and cost effective👍
