Just what I wanted
I ordered a headset to put into my HJC 3/4 Motorcycle Helmet. It has a removable liner so my husband was able to tuck the wires in behind it and then attach the speakers in the ear cut outs with the velcro provided so they don't slide around and I don't feel them in there at all. I am pleased with the sound of these. It does get hard to hear the music on the interstate traveling over 80 MPH on my husband's Suzuki VL800 which isn't a real loud bike. That is fine by me though. I appreciate being able to talk to my husband while I am behind him if we are stopped without having to turn off my music first. I appreciate being able to hear sirens from approaching emergency vehicles. And I appreciate while riding my own bike, a Honda Rebel, that I can hear what my engine is doing. I'm using it with a Sandisk Sansa MP3 player. My husband tried the headset in his helmet to see how he liked it before installing it into my helmet. He found it worked well for him and had me order an additional headset. We both like the volume adjustment control. Neither of us have any trouble using it while riding, even with our gloves on. I have very small hands though and his are kind of small for a man. So a man with large fingers may have trouble with gloves on.A note about the customer service, which I would also rate 5 stars..... The 2nd headset apparently got lost in the mail. I contacted the seller after the weekend to make sure it didn't just wind up at a neighbors house. The seller responded very quickly and shipped out a replacement headset promptly. We received that one just fine and now we're both happy with the product and the customer service.

If only it were louder
I installed these in a Shoei Multitech full face. They fit comfortably in the depressions beside the ears in the helmet and with a little electrical tape managed to position the wires in the seams around the bottom of the helmet. When not in use I have to put the short fixed cable in my jacket or be whipped to death by it at speed. If you then attach the supplied cable/volume control the handy clip prevents wind from moving it much but you forget it is there, get off your bike and walk away with it attached. I guess I will get used to it.So the installation and functionality are good. The sound? Firstly you will not need the supplied volume control because it will always be set on high. Compared to my ordinary Sony computer headphones or my Bose headphones attached to my Ipod a maximum volume the level of the helmet speakers is very low. At highway speeds you would not be able too hear music very well if at all (earplugs or not.) The quality of sound is very good at low speeds though. It works well with my Zumo which has a very high sound output and my radar detector (Solo) because the chirping is distinctive so I am keeping the product but disappointed at the volume level.

Great. Background music = better ride.
I just got these, so I cannot comment on long-term durability, but they look like they'll hold up fine. I have used them for about 500 miles of snowmobile riding this year. I have a small mp3 player, and most of my MP3s are at 256 kbps. My sled has a high windscreen, and they are inserted into a new modular helmet with ear cutouts. At 70-100 miles per hour, the wind is too loud to hear all of the lyrics clearly, but I can still recognize the song just fine, and can still hear the music. Interestingly, when I stand up (thus thwarting the windscreen), the sound is better. My windscreen must really buffet the wind around my head to make extra wind noise. I have used thin high quality ear buds for the past couple of years, and the sound quality is, of course, much better when using ear buds. There are no products on the market that will be better than ear buds for high quality sound in a helmet. If you are an audiophile, just stick with earbuds. I have found, however, that this product allows me to hear my outside surroundings better, and allows me to better communicate with other riders when stopped. I simply have to adjust the volume on the included in-line volume button and have no problems communicating with others. I feel that this product is safer than earbuds for that reason alone. I don't ride motorcycle, but I imagine that it would be even more important to hear the world around you when dealing with regular road traffic, horns, etc. This product also is much more comfortable than earbuds. After several hours of riding, I have no discomfort. These are extremely thin. If your helmet is not too tight in the ears already - you should not have any issues. They install very easily (I did not even need to bother using the adhesive backing because my ears have a cushioned pocket they simply slip in.) The extension, clip, and in-line volume work quite well.Even at 100mph, I can still hear most of the music coming though the speakers. These are great for background music while riding. I considered buying a mini headphone amplifier to make it louder, but, after thinking about it - it is not necessary.

I was shocked by how good these are!!
Love this headset!! I ride a Harley with straight pipes so I wasn't too hopeful I'd be able to hear my music over the exhaust but these do the job. They're not super loud, which is fine because I don't want to lose my hearing, but I can easily hear the music and it sounds pretty decent. It's obviously not going to be concert quality, the speakers are way too small for that, but it's surprisingly good, and works far better than the ear buds I was using. For what it's worth, I didn't use the two pieces of velcro they supplied. The velcro on the back of the speaker sticks strongly to my helmet liner that there was no need for the other piece. The real trick is lining up the speakers to your ear for the best sound since my helmet doesn't have pockets for headsets. Once I got that situated, it was great. For the price and the performance, you can't beat it.
