Samsung Galaxy A40 64GB Smartphone Blue -

Brilliant! Super fast shipping from seller "SKYWISH", arrived several days earlier than estimated (2 days after order). The item was a Samsung A40 (SM-A405F), UK price generally around £219.99 at time of writing. The item ordered was an EU version, which means that it will probably default to another language when you first start it up. Given that it starts with a blank white screen that simply says "Get started" (in whatever language) and has a drop-down selector for language, you just change it to "English (United Kingdom)" and that's literally the only difference to the UK model. (Mine was the Romanian model.) That 2 second action saved me £60 (27%) on the purchase price!Bought for £159.99 at the time of writing. The only other difference is the charger unit, which is the Euro type in the Samsung-sealed box, but the seller includes a separate, new and sealed Samsung-branded UK fast charger. The lead of course is a standard USB-C and is included in the box. So really, you're also gaining a handy Euro USB travel charger!As for the A40 itself, it was chosen over the other 2019 "A" range for the price, the 4GB RAM, the 64GB storage, the better wide angle camera, the fingerprint scanner and the NFC for contactless payments. (An alternative was going to be the Xiaomi Mi A2, another good phone, but it doesn't have NFC). And of course all the usual Samsung refinements. A smooth and fast Android experience.Absolutely cannot fault it for the money!

Slim, light, fits well in hand, vivid screen colours.Battery is not accessible, not replaceable.Inserting 2 SIMs and a micro-SD all three at the same time on the same one tiny flimsy slot frame is of course challenging. Especially if I'm in a hurry or out and about with a bit of windy conditions. Luckily, the SIM location (slot 1 or 2) does not matter, so there is no need to swap SIM positions. It is for the file transfers to-from the micro-SD, that I would much prefer to have a separate frame and slot.Actually, what I would really like, is a removable back cover, giving access to the battery (enabling replacement) and for the cards three separate slots at the back of the phone, without any flimsy tiny frames.All together - I'm very happy with this A40 Samsung, although I would welcome some improvements.

Only had the phone a day but have been so impressed I thought I would leave a review. I had a Huawei p30 before this which was double the price and which I had to return because the screen went faulty after a few weeks. I would say this phone is on same level if not better as the p30. The resolution is fab, the camera is good, it's easy to navigate when using apps and the Internet and the fast charger charges my phone up very fast! No complaints as of yet.

Do not buy this Crap phone full of samsung crap which you can not delete .Its using all the memory. Which was the reason I purchased the phone.4 GB RAM down to less than 1.Internal memory 64GB down to the 20s and I have put everything I can on a sd memory card.Every time I go use this bloody thing I have to get around BIXBY another crap app from Samsung. Going back to my old phone.Never will I buy Samsung again.
