Best sunscreen I have ever used
I'm not saying this is a perfect sunscreen, or that it will suit everyone. I'm just saying that this is the best sunscreen I have ever used, and I've tried an awful lot of sunscreens, both chemical and physical. I stopped using chemical sunscreens years ago because they burn my eyes, but then I ran into the problem of the ghost look with the physical sunscreens. I'm very pale, though, and I've had skin cancer twice, and I live in San Diego, so I didn't have much of a choice. With Rubber Ducky I have the best of both worlds. I can protect my skin all day, and I don't have to look like a ghost. It looks a bit dark coming out of the tube, but it blends right into my skin. I don't look made up, just evened out. It's very easy to spread, and it dries quickly. It's a little oily, but in the desert that's a plus. It's not so oily that my face looks greasy, just dewy. The scent is kind of a nut and floral scent and it fades very quickly. It doesn't sweat off, it doesn't sweat into my eyes, it doesn't burn my eyes or irritate my skin. After a few days of using it, my skin is much smoother and softer. The active ingredients are Zinc Oxide (Non nano) 8.5% and Titanium Dioxide 7%. Zinc is the best broad spectrum sun protection there is. It blocks the UVB rays that burn you, and the UVA rays that age you, and it doesn't break down in sunlight. Titanium is not quite as good as zinc at the UVA rays but is still very effective at blocking harmful radiation from the sun. Both are completely reef safe. When they wash off in the ocean, they just go down to the bottom of the sea like all the rest of the sediment and sit there. Both are chemically inert and will not harm sea life any more than any other rocks or sand. The rest of the ingredients are pure and biodegradable and will not harm living things. It's not a vegan sunscreen because it has beeswax, but it's full of oils and herbs that are good for your skin.Organic BeeswaxComfrey ExtractAlmond OilOlive OilAvocado OilChamomile ExtractAloe Vera ExtractSafflower OilShea ButterLavender OilMango ButterGlyceryl Caprylate*Glyceryl Undecylenate*Sunflower OilCocoa ButterCandelilla WaxTocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E)Iron Oxide*Glyceryl Caprylate, Glyceryl Undecylenate are natural preservatives.

I am super fair and used this sunscreen exclusively for a two week beach vacation. I love that it's reef safe and was super impressed with how long one application lasted. There were times when we wold snorkel for 2 hours at a time (with no reapplication opportunity) and I didn't get more than a little pink during the entire trip (a first for me). The downside to the amazing longevity was attempting to get the remnants off at the end of the day. Even after showering it still felt like I had some residue. Application can be a little tricky - it's a bit hard to spread so applying little bits at a time worked best. Once on, the sunscreen feels very greasy and unfortunately it caused both my husband (who has perfect skin) and me (who has only OK skin) to break out so I would not use it on my face again. I ended up with noticeable sunscreen on my swimsuits and cover ups but it all came out in the wash. Given the great coverage, I'm going to try some other products by Rubber Ducky to see if I can find something that isn't so greasy.

The best sunscreen out there, hands down
I have to be honest: this sunscreen will be more or less flattering depending on your skin tone. I have an olive complexion, so the color was not a problem for me. It is also a little greasy, but if you live in a cold climate like me, the oils really help to protect your skin. I have been using natural mineral (zinc oxide based) sunscreens for a couple years now, but I defintely see a big difference when using this one. It IS the best sunscreen I ever used without any doubt. I have sensitive skin recovering from acne scars and my skin feels soothed and protected: it's like the sun rays never reach it. I'm really glad I found this company and I want to support their products as they're non-toxic and extremely effective. I know they can still make some progress with their formulation: yes, the smell is not my personal favorite, it is a little bit oily and the color sometimes is not perfect (they also use beeswax which I don't really like either), but it works beautifully and protects your skin like nothing else, and I'm sure they will keep up the good work! Big thumbs up for Rubber Ducky, hoping they will release a vegan, more aesthetic version one day: for now, the best sunscreen out there.

Great sunscreen but it will potentially stain light-colored clothes
Be forewarned that this product is tinted a "skin color" that might or might not match your own skin tone. Also, the tinting can potentially stain light-colored clothing. Be sure to launder as soon as possible to avoid permanent staining. I tried to wash my white rash guard every night in the hotel sink while on vacation but it would not come out with regular soap or my shampoo. I was on vacation for a week so by the time I got home and could use my washing machine the tinting had set in. I found that using Oxy Clean Baby Stain Fighter helped remove much of the staining though. The product is rather thick and can separate before it arrives to you. I recommend letting the product warm up a bit (you can put it in the sun to warm up) and massage the bottle so that the product throughly mixes before applying it. Otherwise you kind of get the effect of a ketchup bottle that hasn't been shaken: water will dribble out. Warming the product will also help with the application because the texture of the product resembles the thickness of a facial clay mask.Functionally as a sunscreen it worked fine. I docked a star because of the staining.

I love this sunscreen and it does really great in the water or when I sweat. One thing that you have to be careful about is not getting it on your clothes when you are putting it on. It'll look like you got make up on your clothing. You will see just how water proof it is when you put it on at home and then try to wash it off your hands! I love the slight tint that it has since it seems to act almost like a foundation and cover up some flaws, gives me a nice glow, but doesn't require me to wear any make up on top to make my skin look nice.
