I needed a comfortable supportive shoe for walking outdoors(neighborhood, city park trails, not a hiking shoe). I have bunions so the Wide width makes for a comfortable toe box. The shoe upper is leather which for me is more supportive than what you find in running shoes but that does mean these shoes are heavier. The insoles are great which means I do not have to buy expensive orthotic ones as I've needed in the past. And lastly the lacing is superb! There are 2 holes at the top just before you tie them that can be used to keep the heel portion snug/avoid slipping.

I can't believe that as soon as I put these on, I felt relief! I have tried so many different brands of shoes with no real relief! I know I will have to break them in, if for no other reason than my calf muscles haven't been held in a correct position in awhile! The size was absolutely true to size: 9.0 wide. The support under the arch feels great -- I have had multiple surgeries and been in a cast/boot for months, all told, and I need strong support as my arches are fallen. I was concerned upon hearing that the footbed was so hard, but as someone else wrote, I simply don't feel that. I teach, so I am on my feet for hours each day; I have been in constant pain walking or standing, so I'm anxious to see how these do! I may be teaching in these! I actually bought them for extensive walking on an upcoming trip to Costa Rica, but I think I'm going to be wearing them for much more.

Just didn't fit right

I have worn the same pair for walking for 8 years and they are still looking and wearing well. Great value.

Purchased for my Mother. This shoe is well made, has great insoles and overall great look. The arch support was a little too far back from where it was needed.

I bought these to help with plantar fasciitis. They felt ok at first, but after a month wearing them my feet are worse. I can barely walk and no have what feels like an electrical shock in my heel. So disappointed

I definitely love these shoes! I wear them for work, I am a nurse in the OR. Work 4 ten hour days a week. These have definitely helped with the plantar fasciitis I got a year and a half ago. I am on my 2nd pair. I am trying to get a new pair every 6 months to help with my foot. Neat the end of the 6 months from the previous pair I could tell I needed a new pair because my foot would start hurting towards the end of my 10 hour shift. With new pair my foot feels ok all day.

I am very displeased! I ordered a size 9 wide, when I finally received my shoes the box had a white sticker over the size and it said 9 wide. When I tried them on they fit narrow so I looked at the size on the actual shoe and it said 9 B so I looked at the box again and under the white sticker you could see that they were a reg. width. I don't appreciate being sent something the I didn't order. When people order wide they expect wide!
