Nice splitter
Nice splitter. I see reviews that complain, especially on nuts without clearance issues, say a tie rod. If you have good access to nut use angle grinder first to do bulk of work then splitter so you don't run risk of damaging threads. Sometimes I just use cutting wheel on angle grinder and just cut down to just before threads and pop nut with chisel.

Flat out doesn't work
It twists. It skates off. It doesn't dig in. The blade chips away on the first bolt. It doesn't work. You're better off using a Dremil, hammer and cold chisel, torch and liquid nitrogen, etc. Maybe it will work for you. Maybe it will work on grade 2 nuts. But for suspension nuts (grade 5-8) it doesn't work at all. Since it is sold as a "universal nut splitter", but doesn't split nuts of any consequence, it gets a one star. I wish I could give it a zero.

Works well once, any more times are luck
7/15/23 UpdateWell whaddya know. The set screw broke on me on my second nut. I was trying to split a 19mm one.I ended up having to go at it with a chisel to get it split the rest of the way. Stinks that long term usage won't happen, but I still recommend it because when you need it, nothing else will do.Original reviewI had a 22mm (the limit for this tool) jam nut for a tie rod that was seized solid and it wasn't budging with my impact. I don't have heat so the only other option was to use this splitter. I was a little worried it wouldn't work after reading reviews, but it came through. You'll notice it actually cuts diagonally rather than straight up and down. Also, it does tend to kind of roll forward as you tighten down. These notes may be manageable if you kind of center punch the nut with a chisel prior.I don't know how may more nuts I'll be able to split with this, but if it works even just this once I think it's worth it. Especially considering it took me less than 5 minutes to split it when I had been fighting with the nut more than 3 hours prior.

Works Great
I had cheap ones years ago and they would break every time i tried them. I took a chance on this one for an exhaust collector stud nut. It was on a 2000 chevy plow truck. This nut splitter is well made. Real heavy duty it split that nut no problem. I highly recommend this.

Set Screw Weakness
Update: I used a Dremel with diamond cutting wheel to cut a slot which holds the blade's orientation. It's helped me cut 3 nuts so I guess I won't return it.Original:As others have said, it works once. Its weakness is a very small set screw that sits in a groove which guides the blade keeping it vertical. It is very small but takes on a lot of torque. It uses a 1/16" hex driver. Will spend a tiny amount of time trying to find another screw otherwise it will be returned.Between it, a Dremel cutting wheel and a chisel, a rusty nut was removed and the bolt saved for reuse.
