After a few minor bumps we've decided this is good. Not a clear favorite, but quite good.Our issues began when it arrived and we reviewed the ingredients in detail (we forgot to check before ordering, that's on us). First ingredient is High Fructose Corn Syrup, third or so ingredient is more Corn Syrup...so lots of corn syrup, which we generally try to avoid. Not unusual for sauces when they move from production at a local restaurant to national distribution as this one has...production w/corn syrup is just cheaper and easier to manage. It is what it is, so we moved forward.Sugars on the Hecky are almost 50% higher than the sweetness range we like to stay in. Tasting a finger swipe from the bottle, it came off sweeter than we normally like, so we were a little worried about using it as the primary sauce on the ribs. Our process is to slow cook or smoke using a dry rub, and then do a quick broil w/BBQ sauce in the oven to finish, and we may also have one or more different sauces at the table for dipping purposes.So we decided to keep the Hecky in reserve as a dipping sauce. We served up some ribs w/the Hecky's on the side. We found that it makes a good dipping sauce, it's sweetness mellowed by the cooked ribs w/dry rub. The flavor is distinct (doesn't taste like every other average BBQ sauce) and is enjoyable as an additional dip w/our standard setup.So we may not order it again, but we will enjoy using it slowly as an addition to our sauce options. The next time we do a couple racks I may take a 1/2 rack and use this as the primary sauce, and report back if that changes our hearts and minds in any way. :)

I took a chance not being able to see an ingredient list for this sauce, based on the glowing reviews and the product described as a "healthy" sauce made in small batches using "high-quality ingredients". The first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, and third or fourth is corn syrup. I'm not picky about much in my food but HFCS is something I prefer to avoid so I was disappointed. Flavor-wise, this sauce isn't bad, but it's nothing special. My husband described it aptly as the kind of BBQ sauce you could get from a fast-food place. We'll finish the bottle we purchased but I don't think I'll be ordering it again at its higher price point.

Yes, this is a very sweet sauce, high in carbs, but it's delicious. I've ordered this 5 times via Amazon. I grew up in Evanston going to Hecky's and was so sad to hear Hecky passed from covid. He was an Evanston icon. Pair this sauce with the seasoning, also sold on Amazon, and it's even better.

I love the quality of Hecky's BBQ sauces and seasonings! We can't always make it to the Hecky's restaurant, but we can bring the taste of Hecky's into our eating lives as much as we want - winter, spring, summer or fall! It's a good value for the tasty treat!

I grew up eating Hecky's and this is still truly the best barbecue sauce out there hands down. Definitely worth it to hit up their in Evanston location for some amazing ribs, but in a pinch the sauce will work on my homemade barbecue.

Everything was awesome except the 1st ingredient- HFCS

Hecky's is the best BBQ. We order it all the way from Alaska. You cannot find a better BBQ.
