Yes, but you don’t need them. The area is large.

Is it safe to use small duraflame logs with this pit?

Yes. In fact, the paraffin wax logs burn very bright because of the extra airflow. Thanks for your question.

Whats the difference in the defender and ultra light?

The Ultra Lite is the lightest version of the 24" PopUp Pit. It does not come with the Ember Guards(3.5" Aluminum Sides) or a Heat Shield. This version is NOT approved for U.S. Forest Service and B.L.M. lands that require a Fire Pan. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

optional grill and cover?

We have 2 different portable grills for this version. A trifold and quadfold grill. They come in their own vinyl bags. We do not have a cover, as these are portable and already come with a packable bag.
