This battery looks identical to my Swift 40v battery. Do you know if they are compatible?

I'm afraid it is NOT compatible. Each OEM tends to make a form-factor unique to it's range of tools (no surprise there!!)

Does this fit the Qualcast lawnmower?

How long to charge at first?

Hi Gary, not too long. About 1 - 2 hours. When you're mowing/strimming etc., and you exhaust the battery, it will be quite warm and won't charge until it has cooled down (generally after about 30 mins). Hope this helps

When battery is fitted to charger both lights immediately go out, with no battery in place charger power light stays on what needs replacing ?

Under normal conditions, a flashing LED indicates that the battery is faulty - remove for 1 minute, unplug the charger and retry. If LED still flashes, replace the battery. If both lights go out, the battery is less than 10% charged - leave it in the charger and check the progress by pressing the BCI button. If the BCI remains unlit, then replace the battery.
