My goto sock company -- Highest personal recommendation I can give! It's worth the price!
First off, I love these socks. This is a pair I’ve ordered. I’ve ordered several styles and many of the same style. I’ve been wearing these socks for years—and they last that long. Secondly, I love this company. I’ve returned two pair that got snagged and they promptly credited me for a new pair with free quick shipping. Thirdly, yes, they look expensive. After owning a pair you’ll not think twice about that price based on what you get. You get the lifetime guarantee—which they stand behind—and you get the amazing quality. I took a gamble on this brand the first time when going to Colorado in the winter. I thought I may need quality, warm socks. I didn’t realize how it would impact me. After returning, I threw away just about every other sock I owned. I kept dress socks, for a while. I then proceeded to order several pairs. Then more as time went on. I worked in the field and didn’t realize that my previous socks sucked. I would get sweaty and stinky and blistery. My socks were soaked the end of the day. That is, until Darn Tough. It was amazing when I realized that it didn’t just keep my feet warm in Colorado, it kept my feet comfortable in the central Texas summer heat (110F) walking through mud and swamps! My feet didn’t cramp from being cramped in my boots all day. I don’t feel the stitches or seems. I’m telling you, they could call these socks “Darn comfortable” and they would be telling the truth in that regard, as well! Yeah, I know, it sounds crazy, but from that moment on, merino wool has been a favorite of mine, and no other socks will do. They stay comfortable, they don’t itch and my socks stay in place and they are rugged but soft. Seriously. I’m not paid to say this, I didn’t get anything discounted or free, but I really love these socks. I’ve ordered pairs for my wife, my mom, mother in law, aunts, friends, etc… I haven’t heard one person complain about them, but have heard all of them say great things. I’ve been asked to help them order more, many times. This really is my goto recommendation for socks and a sock company. I’m not sure which is more tough, but both the product and the company are darn tough on their quality and desire to please the customer. I think this company is fantastic, and I bet you will, too! Most highly recommend (not just this model but the whole brand). If this review was helpful, please click the button saying so. Thanks!

Great socks, can't wait to get some more!
So I get stuck between sizes as I wear an 11-12 depending on the cut of a shoe, and socks are no exception either. With that, I would say most of my shoes are an 11.5.... and that leads most "large" socks to be small and most stores do not carry XL socks for whatever reason even though they sell shoes that are. I marked them as fitting as expected as I did order the XL and they list it for a larger foot, but they do fit nicely. Until I buy a pair of large to compare..... this size is great. I am an active person.... I am in the process of rehabbing a 1950's house, maintain a couple of properties, and besides downtime I have a full time career that seems to round out much of a day, 7-days a week. I have been using my socks I bought locally and besides a couple of pair of Smartwool socks, everything else left my feet tired at the end of the day. I tried different shoes which helped some, it often felt like my feet were being suffocated. So I saw where someone said the XL was the size to get and that is what I did... I think they're a tad too big, but I wear them and on the other hand I have to "fit them" to my feet rather than them stretching out like most socks do.... so maybe they are the right size. I am going to buy a pair of large to compare and will see if they're as comfortable... So performance, feel, and comfort--- so far they are great. I wear them two days straight without any ill effects (i.e. smell, etc...) and they feel as good on the second day as they did the first. Performance is great so far. I have work them for at least a couple of weeks total and my feet have felt great across 6-7 different types of shoes. Overall feel.... they are soft and comfortable with comfort over a long day being key. The other thing I noticed is no more fuzz getting stuck/ compacted under my toenails.... to me that means the socks are staying together and my feet are happy for it! So they are about as expensive as others and I never heard of them before running across them on Amazon, but will never forget them as this is what I plan to buy for the future as they feel that good. I do wish they would make a 1/3 stock--- that way I can wear a 5" boot and have enough to protrude out without wearing a full length sock for the warmer months.

Toe box square, long from heel to toe, BUT they are darn tough
I wear 10.5 in shoes (Vans, Adidas, Nike) so I ordered size Large. I washed and put them through the dryer before I wore them. So I assume they shrunk at least a bit in the dryer. When I tried them on the heel pulled up by my Achilles tendon. So, they were long. I adjusted them so that my heal lines up right and it isn't too much slack. The sock stayed on my foot just fine all day. I can see how they'd be tight around the foot for someone with large feet (wide, not long). The second issue that I have with these socks is that the toe boxes are square, and also kind of tight. They are definitely uncomfortable when I first put them on, but throughout my day I didn't notice them much until I actually started thinking about my socks. And even then, it wasn't as uncomfortable as when I first put them on. They just aren't as comfortable as I'd like. I included a picture that has the sock on the ground, on my foot (if you look at the toe next to my big toe there is a tiny point which is the corner of the sock), and another sock that has a rounder, and much more comfortable, toe. I walk A LOT for work and I'm interested to see the true lifetime of these socks. They will be worn once a week. I will update if I have any issues. UPDATE July 2018: The socks are still going strong. The issues I complained about (square toe) are still present, but I have gotten use to them and do not mind. I especially don't mind because the socks seem as good as the day I bought them. I have bought some more Darn Tough socks and I think I will exclusively wear Darn Tough socks. They are expensive, but in the long run I think they are worth it and will cost less than buying other socks. UPDATE March 2019: Finally developed a hole in one of the socks. Still worth it in my opinion. UPDATE APRIL 2022: Pretty much all of them developed holes finally. I am going to buy some more. I know they have the lifetime warranty and blah blah blah, but I feel that I got my money's worth and have no issues buying more.

Same 7 pairs for 8 years.
I had these since 2017 and they are still GOOD. I replaced my mismatch of cheap socks and went all in on these and happy to report that they are still holding up after 8 years. Its definitely worth the $130 that I spent on these. Some parts have a little wear, but but still a lot of fabric and no holes and has a lot of life in them. I just wash and dry them like normal, with no special handling. I only take a few pairs when I travel and just wash them in the sink and they are good as new the next day with no smells or odors.

Thin yet satisfying.
These are great socks! I own the thicker darn tough socks for hunting in cold conditions, and wanted something for the warmer seasons. My Alphaburly Lacrosse 400gram boots fit a bit snug even with basic cotton socks to the point of soreness. I needed something to eliminate that problem, while still providing comfort and performance. I can say with confidence that these socks met those expectations. After traversing hilly terrain to muddy creek bottoms in 60 degree temperatures, these things kept my feet dry and comfortable. The socks feel very thin to the touch. That had me a bit worried about blisters considering I haven’t worn my hunting boots for a couple of months. To my surprise I had zero sore spots. The moisture wicking wool kept my feet feeling fresh and less fatigued. If you are looking for a light, thin, early season boot sock, then I couldn’t recommend this pair enough. Only thing that I would change would be the length to be a bit longer, but that’s just being nitpicky.

Awesome, but expensive
The best top 2-3 manufacturers i tried. Socks hold shape even after several washes unlike generic socks. Very nice feeling on the feet, however material can get the feet a bit sweaty. I use them for long hikes, so that can be expected anyway. It is nice to see quality product in the age of "fast fashion".
