DIY Natural Household Cleaners: How To Make Your Own Cleaners Naturally.

This book is great for anyone looking to clean and be "green"! I'm a new "green" cleaner but this book makes it easy and give ideas that will make your house not only clean but also safe for your family. I have only tried a few of the cleaners in this book but they have all worked perfectly and have exceeded my expectations! They give a link to get the essential oils that are needed for some of the cleaners in the book; however, the essential oils on that link are pretty pricey! I found the same oils, plus a few extra here on amazon for a much cheaper price (-$100)!! Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who's looking for new ideas how how to clean, save money, and be green!

I highly recommend your book as best reference for beginners in soap making if they are LOVERS OF NATURE. After receiving this book, I could hardly wait to start reading it. I read it all before putting it down! It is very informative and I have tried about half of the recipes so far and intend to try them ALL! I always wondered how people did their cleaning before all the commercialized stuff came out. I just bought a new HE front load washer and dryer and the laundry powders I have made work wonderfully. I will never buy laundry soap at the store again. My clothes smell fresh, feel better and I certainly love the savings! I also really like the homemade handiwipes (cleaning wipes). My house smells fresher. This book is just what I have been looking for. Thanks to the Jabbs for doing all the research for me!!!

Most of the recipes in here are excellent ones. I use the dishwasher soap and Laundry soap ones and love them. Expanding into kitchen and bathroom cleaners I noticed that some of the recipes called for a mix of baking soda and vinegar and essential oils.... Some of these applications work, like drain openers and toilet bowl cleaners, but some of them don't...Why? Because the reaction between baking soda and vinegar leaves mostly water in the bottle, not a gentle cleaner. You might as well just mix water and the oils. You want the foaming action to work on the dirt or clog and not stay inside the bottle... Other than this, I love the book and loved the helpful tips, like using an old sock to dust with or making your own re-usable wipes out of old t-shirts and then leaving them in the container with the cleaner...voila....instant ready-wipes and no more paper towel usage for clean-ups.

Great and easily made products for starting DIY products. This was the first DIY book Ive purchased just to see if I could get into it. I now almost solely use self made products and have been amazed to see them work better then my old favorite cleaners. I thought that there was no way to beat certain store cleaners but now I rely on my favorite ones made from this book to do the hardest cleanup jobs. A little pricey to start but I feel I've already made my money back and I'm only 4 months in with more then half of each product used. Mkae things you feel better using, smell better, work better and are going to save you money.

I have been converting to DIY forms of cleaners for almost a year now. I already make my own laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent. I have spray bottles of vinegar and water and have put a sprayer on my hydrogen peroxide. I also already have baking soda in a recycled Parmesean Cheese container for various purposes. I debated whether this book would be good for me since I already have taken so many steps toward making my own products. I wish I had read more of the reviews so I could make a better decision. If you have not made any steps toward making your own products, this is a GREAT starter book. It has all the basics to get you going. And you will definitely save enough to cover the cost of the book. However, it was highly disappointing for me. Half the recipes in the book are repeats of the various uses for vinegar and baking soda. The one good thing about them is they give different ideas on how to use essential oils. If you like your cleaning products to have a pleasant smell, that could be extremely useful. And I will keep the book for that reason and only that reason.I did not pay attention to the number of pages in the book, or the size. Somehow, the photography made me feel this book would be more substantial. I did catch that it is paperback, but it is a small book. I also thought there would be more substance to the book. Mr Jabs could do a better job on the formatting of the pages. For instance, each recipe could begin and end on one page. It would make it easier to use the book. Also, if the pages were bigger with room for notes in the margin, a user could make notes on what worked and adjustments for the next time. That change would make this book more of a resource.For $17 plus shipping, I think this book could be produced much more professionally. It is definitely not worth the price, even if you are saving money on the products. The same information is available online for free. Make the book something worth paying for if you want that much for it.Blessings to each of you and I hope this review helps you!

I love the ideas presented in this book. I believe natural cleaning products work just as well as bought ones and smell a whole lot better. Be careful to get a good quality spray bottle, the really cheap ones can clog up.

FANTASTIC BOOK!!!HAS CLEAR SIMPLE EASY RECIPES TO FOLLOW. SAVES ME MONEY AND THE CLEANERS SMELL GREAT USING ESSENTIAL OILS. I'VE KEPT ALL OF MY OLD SPRAY BOTTLES ETC AND FILLED THEM UP WITH MY OWN MIXTURES.MY HOUSE SMELLS GREAT AND I'M FREE FROM ALL THOSE TOXIC CHEMICALS AND SPRAYS THAT I USED TO INHALE!!!
