AEG T8DEE945R Freestanding Heat Pump Tumble Dryer with Absolutecare Technology, 9kg Load, White [Energy Class A]

When our old condensing tumble drier started making noises like a steam engine after 12 years I started to research options for a replacement. Heat pump seemed logical for running costs (I am not in a mad hurry to have all my drying done in minutes). High on my list of priorities was something that was not made in China, a decent warranty length and reversible door.This tumble drier is made in Poland. The warranty is two years - naturally I would have liked longer but you can't get everything. The door is reversible though the instructions were slightly generic and showed parts that didn't feature on this model which was a bit confusing. But the actual door switch process is pretty straightforward if you don't look at the supplied instructions in too much detail.The supplied condensate drainage hose is just 8mm internal diameter so it's a bit of a challenge to work out how to connect it in a robust manner below the sink - most dishwashers / washing machines have a larger hose diameter to connect to the trap. So that's something that would be helpful for AEG to address for the UK market.Runs quietly, good lint filter system. Probably too many programme options - it's a tumble drier - just dry the clothes! The sensidry system seems to work well at adjusting the programme length the amount of moisture in the clothes. For the price I paid on an amazon deal I am pleased.

This computerised tumble drier has a big drum, resulting in no crushed clothes. It runs silently. Condenser is inbuilt, and does not require an exit tube or an open door

Good product. I have tried most of the settings to dry a mix of clothes. Easiest to put on eco mode and let it do its thing. They come out dry, and it seems to automatically adjust the time to achieve an optimal level of dryness.

so true! The machine is, of necessity, in a place that may get cold in extreme conditions. However nowhere in the product description details did it feel fit to mention this most important detail that I was completely unaware of until I read the instruction handbook.So when the temperature dropped, using the machine was just wasting energy. I put a load through the driest cycle twice and it's still not dry and hanging over a wooden clothes airer.My washing machine works happily in there, as did my old drier which may only have had 2 settings but it did dry the clothes! Clearly, this is a model designed to work under restricted temperatures so had there been a caveat, I would have been aware not to buy this particular model which apparently will work for me in spring and summer, during fine weather but not in winter when it's most needed.

Delivery team were on time, polite and acted in a professional manner, recycling the old unit and removing the old packaging. Could not have asked for more - took images of the unit working once installed. A bit expensive but well worth the money. Much quieter than its predecessor 58840.
