Greatest Hits: Decade #1

I wish more of Carrie Underwood's hits had the rougher, unpolished feel of the three demos at the end of Disc Two, "So Small", "Last Name", and "Mama's Song". "Mama's Song" is my favorite Underwood song. Whenever I hear "See You Again", I can't help but think of the beautiful end of the video in which the toddler-girl runs across the airport to greet her returning soldier-father. The live "How Great Thou Art" (with Vince Gill), the baptismal "Something In The Water", and "Jesus, Take The Wheel" are also here. Surrender to Jesus, abandonment to His Holy Will, unwavering trust in Him, are much harder in practice than in theory, as trials tend to prove in all but the saints."Wasted" is a good song to listen to for anyone who is looking for some inspiration to start down the road to recovery from substance abuse/addiction. "Blown Away" could do the same for anyone looking to recover from abuse/sexual abuse. I don't really care for the lyrics of "Good Girl" which seems to teach nice girls to be cynical about men. But there are still nice guys out here, gals, hint, hint.Writing from Louisville, let me say that if you ever visit here you can tour The Louisville Slugger Museum downtown and see how the bats are made. Carrie takes one to her cheating boyfriend's car in "Before He Cheats". What's the Taylor Swift video in which she takes a golf club to her boyfriend's car? Gals, men have to spend their hard-earned money on vehicles, don't tear them up with baseball bats and golf clubs. Louisville Sluggers are best used in gaining victories for the Cincinnati Reds.This Carrie Underwood "Greatest Hits" CD (complete up to "Storyteller") is perfect for anyone wanting to become acquainted with her music. It's also good for anyone who is generally familiar with her songs but doesn't own any of her albums.

Carrie Underwood Greatest Hits: Decade #1 is a great collection of music! All the hits are on here from Juese Take The Wheel to Blown Away! These songs are from the following albums - Some Hearts (2005), Carnival Ride (2007), Play On (2009), & Blown Away (2012)! There is also 2 new songs included on this Greatest Hits album, they are Something In The Water & Little Toy Guns! Also this is a two disc set, 22 songs in all!

I've been searching for a greatest hits album by Carrie Underwood, so I was really glad when I noticed this the other day. It was purchased as MP3 songs, but then i burned it on cd for my car. This album includes many great songs on here, even ones that i wasn't familiar with. Temporary Home is one that i never heard, but it really is a beautiful song. Her voice is so captivating but so are the lyrics. See You Again is one of my favorites, and I love that the live version of How Great Thou Art is included. I'm going to be listening to this album over and over again!

While Ms Underwood's CD was excellent, this review is for Amazon's outstanding issue resolution. For some odd reason, neither disc could be read by my media player. The CD set was received in perfect condition, eliminating physical damage.I made my claim for replacement, and two days later received a replacement copy, and the next day received the prepaid UPS return label.And, my defective product return status was updated promptly.Interestingly enough, I purchased the item over three months ago, but with Amazon'e auto-rip I hadn't gotten around to ripping it on my music server yet. I assumed everything was fine since I had listened to the CDs via my Amazon Cloud player.Along with measuring a company on the orders they execute perfectly, I also measure a company by what they do when purchases aren't perfect, when something goes wrong, and Amazon certainly is at the top in this measure.

After all of the other country music I had, finally realized that she has enough songs out that I enjoy and didn't have- and they are all of her most popular, so I bit the bullet and got this CD with the digital copy. Glad I did. It saved me from buying each of her main albums for the songs I enjoy. Might consider the albums later, but for now- this is a great compilation CD, including her two most recent hits that are catchy as heck.
