O.M.G. What is the deal with Half Shelves in cat condos?????
Not sure if the companies who build these things are just trying to cut corners or what... This is the 2nd condo I've ordered from Amazon to be Highly disappointed in - guess I'll have to go back to old-school shopping or who knows, have our ancient, worn-out 2 Actual Story cat condo reupholstered!!!The image on the product page has 3 inner caves, the bullet point description Claims there are 3 caves for hiding or sleeping, even the answers from other customers say that there are 3 Whole shelves. So....what the Heck? Somebody somewhere fixed something that wasn't broken. Our cats are full grown adults & there is no Way they could Ever rest/sleep on these weeny little shelves. Get real, Pet Partners dba North American Pet.To be fair, this cat condo has quality carpeting going for it. That alone earns it the second star.Too bad I have to send it back. The cats are having a Blast with the box & paper it came in!!!

Need to finish the back.
Great product, but why don't they finish the back. It is left uncarpeted. We have two of these and have them in front of fireplace with backs of little couches facing living room. Unfinished back is very unattractive. We carpeted the back ourselves. For price paid, it should be finished.

Good Replacement
I have been unsuccessfully searching stores for a replacement scratch curl. He prefers a horizontal scratch product to a vertical post. This one looked pretty close to my current one so I decided to try it. I was a little hesitant since it says small. When I saw the box it came in, I thought it would have to go back. Once I took it out of the box and put it beside the old one, it’s only slightly smaller. My cat checked it out right away and has been using it. It’s not quite as sturdy as his other one but it’s adequate for his weight of 13lbs. He can tip it off the ground when he scratches aggressively but it doesn’t seem to bother him. I would definitely advise only using this on a carpeted area otherwise it will move all over. Luckily for me, that’s where mine is. He lounges in the back of curl and he also likes to use it as a step stool to hop up on the couch.

Mostly to add additional pictures
I was mostly doing this review to add some pictures of the item that I think should have been originally posted.Sorry about my (10lb) cats being in the pictures they wouldn't leave it alone, and I had just sprayed it with liquid catnip. Its a decent size for what it is but with the 2nd "floor" being only a half self my cats have yet to use it or be interested in it.The only like being on the bottom floor, clawing the side or sleeping on the very top of the item.I think it was a great buy at its (open box price of less than $20) but its full price wouldn't make it worth it since the half self kind of ruins it being two stories for me. It is think and well built and would buy again if needed.Mentioning that the carpet is nice and fluffy, there seems to be some fibers falling off (in pictures) but not much of an issue. The carpet is not on the bottom of the 1/2 shelf or the inside top of the condo. (in pictures)The inside walls are bare except for on strip/stripe of carpet going down the back. (also in pictures)

Cats won't let me use it. I have to sit in the box it came in instead.

Cats Love It - That's The Problem.
Even after reading the reviews, I thought this thing probably wasn't that bad, and I gave it a chance. They said it was a little small - well, my cats are small and even if they smoosh it, no big deal. They said it wasn't as pictured - the sisal part was much smaller & didn't go over the hump like it does in the picture. Well, that would be ok, I guess - and I foolishly believed that the product would probably come as pictured anyway. It wasn't until I received it that I remembered the other criticism, the one that should have scared me away if I hadn't forgotten about it..... the staples.Friends, it's not just a few staples here and there. It's about a staple per inch, up one side and down the other. The sisal is, indeed, just a small panel on the front of the hump. I have a hard time imagining how a cat could comfortably dig into it, especially since the edge where sisal meets carpet runs right over the top of the hump and is *double-thickness and full of staples*.And I could even overlook that, if the staples were well-buried in the material and I felt confident they would stay snug. I didn't even have time to fully form that illusion before it was shattered. I pulled out about half a dozen loose staples from the edging and carpet. By hand. No tools. Also, THE TAG WAS STAPLED ON. Those staples I had to dig out with a pair of needle-nose pliers.I wanted it to work. I so very much wanted to stop the kitties from sharpening their claws on the various area rugs. So I put it out for them anyway. They played with the feather toy. It was adorable. They gave it a good scritch or two and it seemed like maybe it was all going to be ok. They'd avoid the staples. They'd play in the tunnel. We'd all sip mimosas on the sunny deck of a yacht in the Caribbean and have a good laugh. It was not to be. The scritcher didn't last 24 hours. I've attached some photos of the wreckage - shield your eyes if ye be faint of heart. The Scritcher is dead. Long live the Scritcher.I want my money back.

Don't Buy This Scratching Post
This cheaply made scratching post was no match for my sweet old man cat. We've had it for a little over two weeks and it's already falling apart. I've spent less on scratching posts that last a year or more. Don't waste your money on this one.

Cats Like It
My cats like this scratcher. The toy on the top isn't exactly as shown in the picture. The one I received has a red fuzz ball on top. It is a nice scratching post at a reasonable price. I'm happy with the purchase.

Do not buy
Crap product. Only about 45" tall not 60" a piece was missing and another was broken. Definitely not worth the money!
