Awesome strong system, only available on Amazon?
This is an awesome strong shelving system. I discovered it as it was left behind in a closet in a house we purchased 3 years ago. Finally got around to doing what we wanted to do with the closet, and re-hung the system on the opposite wall and up higher. I needed a few more pieces of the system to do that, and found these pieces here on Amazon. I have no idea where the owners purchased these originally, as they are not internet people and Home Depot, Ace, and Lowes does not carry this line now. It is not necessary to purchase the top rail that the vertical pieces sit on. The vertical pieces (with adjustable lines for the shelves) have holes in them for screws. Throw a screw in them through a stud and you're good to go.

Not the same as other John Sterling standards
Exactly as described, but for the fact they are Fast Track, not the same size slots for brackets as other John Sterling. Be careful which items you are buying so they are compatible.

Covered in Sticky Tape
These are covered with a really thin really sticky covering of thin tape. I thought it was clear shrink wrap, which would have been OK. These had a covering of tape that I couldn’t peel off. I resorted to a heat gun and a scraper. That got the tape off. Then I had to wipe them with lacquer thinner to get the sticky tape adhesive coating off. It took me about an hour to clean two of these off. This was the worst packing material I’ve ever seen. I will not buy any more of these because of the huge PITA to clean them off. Except for that they work great and are good shelves or lumber racks.

When you don't need the heavy duty brackets...
The John Sterling shelving system has been great for a closet I needed to store items in. I set up several shelves with the more heavy duty brackets but had some that I didn't need to support tremendous amounts of weight. I've got 4 uprights so that's 600lbs total capacity with 4 of these brackets. If you don't need the extremely heavy duty ones, these are great. Without the supporting v brace under the bracket you get a little bit more room to store things. Couldn't be more easy to install.

Heavy duty metal bracket
I bought the fast track system to hold lumber from Home Depot several years ago (they no longer carry it) and needed to add on to the system for a bigger shop. It works very well. Only draw back is the angle support which takes away some of the capacity, but that also helps not to exceed the 300 lbs. holding weight. I'm happy with it.

Just a little short of Expectation
I was happy to find these brackets so that I could expand my existing John Sterling Fast Mount utility shelf unit. However, I noticed in the photo that the bracket tabs that fit into the standard slots were a different design from the tabs on my existing brackets. I called John Sterling Company to ask about this, and was shuffled around a bit because apparently now the John Sterling Company is a division of another company that recently bought them out. The person I ultimately spoke with was helpful in that he went to the Amazon site to view the photo I was looking at so that he could respond to my question about compatibility. He explained that he thought the photo was in error and that brackets I was wanting to order would fit my existing Fast Mount standards. When I received the brackets I found that the person I spoke to was partially correct. The photo was indeed accurate, meaning that the tabs on the new brackets were different from the tabs on my existing brackets. Luckily the new brackets fit into the standards okay. The only significant disappointment was that the brackets are now made from a lighter guage steel, and, though the tabs fit into the slots of the standards, they do so rather loosely. The result is that the assembly is flimsier than with the brackets I had purchased about 5 years ago. I am happy that the brackets are made in the U.S., but am disappointed that they have the "look and feel" of a product made offshore. Too bad.

I used this system for a wood shop 15 years ago and it was great. New house
This 10" bracket is part of an adjustable shelving system from John Sterling that is probably the most robust on the market. There is a heft and "beefiness" associated with each part of the system that people looking for a substantial system will appreciate. I used this system for a wood shop 15 years ago and it was great. New house, new shop and a new John Sterling system. The individual components are a bit pricey (about 2x what you will find at Lowes, Home Depot, etc), but 20 years from now you will be glad you went with this system.

Sturdy and quality.
The price of the standards has tripled. I have used this product for years. I questioned weather to purchase because of inflated price.

I will buy more of these when I can but ...
I will buy more of these when I can but since I live on a fixed income John Sterling and his Fast-Mounts will have to wait for their turn at the money bowl.
