Much less than 75ml
I bought this as a gift for my mother. She loves the scent however the 75ml tube did not contain 75ml of hand cream. I’ve previously purchased from shops without any issues, but based on this experience will not again, really not good value for money!

This needed to come in some form of packaging to protect it.
This came very battered from its journey and unfortunately because I needed this asap for a present I had to use it otherwise I would have sent it back.

3.5* Love the scent which reminds me of 50s films, fashion & glamour (yes, I know it sounds weird!)
This had a beautiful, understated scent that reminds me of glamorous times - you know, when hair had to be coiffed, nylons had to be worn, shoes were polished stilettos, dresses had tiny waists and flared skirts, lipstick was a matte red, etc. It's a scent that is old-fashioned but lovely because it makes me feel glamorous, even if it's just on my hands. It's not an overpowering scent and it doesn't have that faux smell of artificial roses - it's got actual rose water (to soothe) in it, as well as coconut oil (to hydrate) and mallow (to soften), and the usual hand-cream staples (suspects). It's not greasy and it absorbs well, and lasts, too. But, it's a thinner cream and it's not going to protect your hands if you're out in cold weather. This is more along the lines of something I'd keep in my bag to moisturise as and when needed, but not for protection purposes - there's just not enough body to it.It's also really, really expensive for what it is. I have a 75ml Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour cream that lasts and lasts, even beyond washing, and which delivers visible results and feels great on, that costs only a few pence more than this tube of 25ml. I couldn't afford to buy this, but it's handbag sized and very handy, as well as smelling gorgeous. A nice-to-have item, but not something for Jane Average's budget.

Rich, oily, but a bit forgettable
The first thing that has to be said is that on the size options, 25ml is NOT a misprint- this really is a baby-sized little tube of hand cream, a tiny little handbag-sized or travel pack, at a price for which other creams would give you literally ten times as much product. If thinking of using it as a handbag item though, be careful as it’s not especially sturdy or travel-safe- a bit of misplaced pressure inside your handbag and you may open your bag to find very creamy (but nice smelling) contents! The smell itself is fairly rich, and as such you do feel like you can afford to use less of it than you might with a regular concentration hand cream- but only to a small extent, it’s not ‘super-concentrated’ as it were. For me the overriding aroma is rose, but there’s also a chunk of aloe vera in there. The aroma has a particularly strong kick initially, as noticeable as a thick application of perfume, although it fades fairly promptly as your hands come into contact with other things. The feel of it is fairly oily. It’s not unpleasant but there’s a definite sheen that’s left behind on your hands, and it does make them genuinely more slippy for an hour or so after application, so be careful! The moisturising effect feels a bit superficial as a result- it’s hard to believe that it’s having any real health benefit to your skin, but in terms of making your skin temporarily shinier and glossier, it certainly does have a visible effect. The splitting of Crabtree & Evelyn products into masculine ‘Crabtree’ and feminine ‘Evelyn’ items still seems rather unnecessary to me, and while I can appreciate that the brand maybe needed a bit of refreshing, so far what I’ve seen of the new items in the range hasn’t wholly impressed. This is a decent enough hand cream, but I don’t think it’s premium or ‘magic’ enough to justify the current asking price per millilitre, or the slightly impractical small tube.

A new favourite
I generally use Crabtree & Evelyn products, finding their hand and body lotions do a good job of rehydrating parched skin and making it feel better. In the winter, when the cold plays havoc with my hands, teaming the cream with one of their exfoliating hand scrubs really makes a difference. This is a new scent for me and one that may become my new favourite from the brand (it always was La Source before). The cream is as good as I have come to expect from the brand and can be relied on to leave hands feeling soft and hydrated, without any dryness that you can get with lesser creams. Definitely worthy of consideration. There are two product sizes currently listed on the page; 25ml and 75ml. The 75ml does not always offer best value but do weigh up any difference as the 25ml tube will not last long by comparison and there is always difficulty extracting the last of the product from the tube. Although Crabtree & Evelyn products tend to be at the top end of the price spectrum, they are good and worth considering.

Nourishing hand cream with a deliciously sweet scent
I like this hand cream, it feels really luxurious. It’s got a deliciously sweet fragrance to it which makes me think of being in a botanical garden surrounded by lovely pink roses and pretty pink marshmallows. I actually hesitated initially to get this because I thought it would be the typical rose air freshener type scent and it’s definitely not that! It’s much more sophisticated with a complex fragrance and I love that the scent lingers long after you've applied the hand cream. The cream has got a nice consistency to it too, neither too heavy nor too light so it feels nourishing and gets absorbed into the skin quickly, leaving no greasy residue. It also feels like an assuringly gentle formulation as despite being fragranced I found it didn’t sting the raw cracked areas around my knuckles which appeared this month after the temperature outside dropped and the central heating's been on throughout the day.I definitely recommend this hand cream but also like Crabtree & Evelyn Renew + Nourish hand cream which is equally good in my opinion and just as nourishing with a similar botanical scent to it (without the rose element). The only downside with both hand creams of course, is the price but it’s the price you pay for little luxuries I guess; the trick is to use as little as possible and really massage the cream into your hands so it can do it’s job effectively.
