awful controls + temp controls - Decent Kettle when you turn the BEEP off
So why I'm returning this is because of how the custom temp UI works. There a set button and a start cancel button. To boil water just hit start. For other temps hit set until your temp displays, then start. Sounds simple yes? But there's something about the timing, half the time when I set it for 185, I come to find it boiling. Also if you can't tell if the first set press went through and hit it again, you have to cycle through the temp 100-200 5 at a time until you get back to where the right temp. You can hold the button down to speed through. It also doesn't do a good job of stopping at a certain temp. With lower amounts of water, it overshoots the set temp significantly. I set for 185 with the min amount and while the kettle shut off at 185, the temp shot up to 193 before leveling off.Oh almost forgot - out of the box, every button press has a high-pitched beer associated with it (possible to avoid the double press I mentioned before) but it's not a sound you want to hear first thing in the morning. And the user manual doesn't even say how to turn it off! I had to find the answers on the Amazon page.Having temps displayed is nice, and I like the stainless construction, but I don't want my appliances frustrating me while I'm trying to caffeinate in the morning.

I beg you.. don’t take it..
I wanted to give it a few days of use before I jumped into this, and I have to be honest that I never thought an electric kettle would make me as excited as a child, but such is the case. My wife humors me as I brag about its 5 degree interval temperature settings and go on about how most people don’t know how to property brew a white, green or black tea! She knows I take this seriously, and if you’re looking at this, I find it safe to assume that you do as well. This thing is scary accurate. It has an all-time, real-time temp display on the screen. My thermostat says 77, the kettle says 77. It’s precise as they come. You can have complete confidence that your 170 degree brew is EXACTLY 170!Let’s say you’re avant garde and demand 168 degrees... well, just keep eyes on the screen and pull it off the base at 168! Easy as that. It DOES have memory, so even when I set it back down and press keep warm, it remembers... like the good friend that you deserve.I find myself, late at night, wandering into the kitchen, pondering how I ever let that counter space be void of this kettle. It belongs there. It contrasts the stainless steel and gently nudges me towards a beautiful cup of Nighty Night Tea Time.Take my first born child, but not this kettle. Please.

good value with a few gripes.
just got this and here are my initial impressions. check back in a year. : )love the all stainless interior.outside is plastic. was expecting metal (like my coffee carafe, and french press. ) these also deal with hot water and remain safe.the lid is hinged on and opens to about 80 degrees. that will be in the way when you clean and you can't remove it. just be careful to not damage it if you try and hand clean the inside.charging base is super light and cheap plastic feel. not a big deal if it lasts.the pour spout is kind of a bottle neck. just don't try and pour too fast. i can now see the advantage of those long spouts near the bottom of old school kettles. : )filled to the max line with 61 F water. took 8:20 minutes to boil. so that's probably the longest i'll ever wait. i will normally do less water at lower temps.controls seem simple. i could easily figure out how to set temp and boil. glad it doesn't have a NASA control bank of buttons on it. it remembers the last setting. cool.outside was just slightly warm after boiling water. nice.

Great for anything more than one cup
Kettle is fast and accurate. I live at altitude and it does take it about 10 extra seconds to decide that the water cannot get any hotter than 200 degrees before it shuts off automatically. I use the manual "warm" setting instead so it just shuts off at exactly the temperature I need. Saves time and power. I do wish it was smaller. The minimum fill is about enough for 2 tea or coffee mugs. So if you only want one cup its more efficient to just put a cup in the microwave. But for anything more than one cup you cannot beat this kettle.Do keep in mind that it may consume twice the counter space as the footprint of the kettle alone. I'm too paranoid to leave the kettle on the base when not in use because I leave the base plugged in. So the base and the kettle both take up counter space. If you don't mind fiddling with the plug every time you want to run it then you could save counter space by storing it on the base unplugged.

Junk, in the trash after 6 months due to poor design and construction of lid & lid latch.
We've had a long succession of electric kettles over the last couple of decades; we use them multiple times daily and understand that they wear out after a few years. This one, however, was by far the worst of the bunch, and made it just 6 months before becoming unusable and needing to be thrown out. The lid latch is a tiny prong of plastic that even when new barely held the lid closed. After 6 months of use, the thin plastic of the lid hinge became deformed, causing the lid latch prong to shift and become unable to hold the lid closed reliably, popping open unpredictably while pouring and exposing one's hand to steam. When I made a very gentle last-ditch inspection of the hinge, to see if I could savage the kettle, it broke entirely off before I could really even get a look, and into the trash the kettle went. To be honest, I'm not sorry to see it go - even when new, it is hard to pour without dribbling, the multi-temp interface is clumsy, the "done" beep is annoying, the lid release button is fidgety, the temperatures are inaccurate, and in general this product in no way justified its premium price.

Can't be set to specific temperatures after only 3 weeks
I bought this kettle just a few weeks ago and have used it only a dozen times before it stopped being able to set a specific temperature. I can still press the start/cancel button to just boil water, but for some reason the display no longer reads correctly and the set button doesn't do anything anymore. Super disappointed since I paid for something that could give me more temperature control and got a basic water boiler for more money than it's worth.

GREAT KETTLE
This Miroco kettle has the temperature control which works great once you discover how to work the buttons. The instructions in the booklet are USELESS and VERY confusing and it took a few days to figure it all out.INSTRUCTIONS: Fill the kettle. For the temperature setting you press the SET button (to your desired temp) always followed by KEEP WARM. Once boiled to your set temp the kettle keeps turning on and off to keep the water the set temp. You can shut that down by pressing CANCEL 1x (which is also the START button) So to actually boil the water to 212 F press START one time. The blue light means the kettle is starting 'soon' - the red light means it's done there is a soft BEEP. Because of the double wall the kettle looks bigger than expected but the uncomplicated looks and styling makes up for it. We only had the kettle for 14 days and so far so good.

Really Like This Kettle
Like this kettle more than I thought I would. Bought two in fact. Main reason I purchased this one is for the all stainless steel. Neither water nor water vapour inside touches plastic or silicon.Pros1. All stainless inside, no water or water vapour touches plastic or silicon.2. Outside plastic keeps the water inside warm and the outside cool.3. Temperature settings. I don't need 212 water so it's great I can set to what I need and not waste energy.4. While I thought it would be big and bulky, I find it sleek and stylin'. It's also lightweight.5. Lid opens wide for filling from tap.6. Was packaged well and supplier put in info.Neutrals (not really cons)1. Neither of the two kettles I received sit flat on the counter. They wobble a tiny bit. Thought that may be an issue but hasn't proved to be one. And I don't notice it with water in the kettle.2. Three presses each time. One to wake it up. One to set temperature (after you've already preset it earlier). One to start it. If you just hit the start button directly it boils to 212 degrees.I wouldn't call these cons but just noteworthy comments.Overall I'm very satisfied. My top prioity was an all stainless steel interior and I got a sweet, functional kettle on top of that. So I'm a happy camper. Have had a couple of months now and recommend as a purhase.

Doesn't use real degrees, but otherwise excellent! The awful beeping can be turned off.
Why does Amazon want me to rate the "warmth" of this kettle when writing a review? Does anyone think about those categories when they configure these things? So strange. Anyway, this kettle is great! It works as advertised. It's gigantic, enough to make three huge Starbucks "venti" drinks, but it's hard to find a reasonably-sized kettle and the advertisement shows is accurately, so I can't complain about that. It's beeping is horrid. My dog ran and hid behind the toilet when he heard it, apparently thinking it was the smoke detector. Fortunately, it's easy to disable forever. My only real complaint is that it simply doesn't work in Celsius, the standard in this country and 99% of the other countries in the entire world. It seems like it should be super easy to switch between the two, what with the many computerized functions of this thing, but nope, you're stuck with silly, obsolete Fahrenheit forever. So next time you want to warm two chungas of water in under half a srupulum, this old-timey kettle should do the trick!

Plastic Shell Scratches Easily
I currently own the Cuisinart CPK-17 stainless steel programmable kettle, I bought it for it's modern styling and the programmable temperature, but the electronics have been problematic, the button lables have rubbed off and now the lid has seized shut, so it's time for a replacement. I decided to look at other models due to the exorbitant cost of the Cuisinart and the problems I'd experienced with it, plus I wanted a kettle where the water didn't come into contact with any plastic. After spending days researching different model kettles on Amazon, I finally decided on the Miroco MI-EK004 due to:- high rating and user reviews- interior is all metal, water doesn't come into contact with plastic- modern style/look- temperature programming optionsI eagerly awaited the arrival of my new kettle, but was disappointed immediately upon opening the box.The photos on Amazon suggest the outer plastic shell of the kettle is a clean satin black finish, instead its a shiny black finish which scratches easily.Right out of the box the black plastic is covered in scratches and scuff marks, giving the appearance it's been used and abused, but the metal inside looks pristine, no sign that it's ever been used before. If i simply glide a finger over the plastic, it leaves micro-scratches.I've seen this before with plastic CD jewel cases.I don't know why a company would use this type of plastic in their products as they become ruined quickly. On the plus side, the kettle feels solid and the inside is indeed all metal, but its not an appliance I want to leave out on my counter due to the worn look of the plastic.Maybe the kettle I received was from a bad batch, I will see what response I get from the seller.
