This is a simple little book about a simple little ritual and a very complicated story about the ways and means of modern sick-care. Perhaps only slightly stranger than the practice of drinking beans is the use of java juice for an enema. The basic practice enemas pre-dates The Christ, and the modern coffee enema has found a place of infamy. Is it possible that something found commonly in the kitchen cupboards might reduce the need for morphine, increase liver efficiency, and assist the body in the detoxification process? With any holistic approach, the outcome is often relative to personal commitment and diligence, but the proponents of this simple technique swear by its' efficacy. The practice is most often combined with a vegan diet or in conjunction with fresh juice fasting. Excerpt: "The difficulty in the application of a nutritional technique is that we have no real conceptual comparison between the medical and the holistic approaches." Whether the body can be jump-started into overcoming a health challenge is dependent upon many things, but the author will unveil aspects of this novel approach as reviewed from historical and personal perspectives. Review: Healing power of coffee - In the first half of this book the author emphasizes the importance of a fruit and vegetable based diet along with juicing. Afterwards the history and pioneers of coffee enema's (such as Dr.Max Gerson)are mentioned along with the authors personal health issues resolved using this protocol. The author explains most enema's merely flush solids out of the colon, but caffeine, palmitic acids, theophylline and theobromine in coffee release toxins, boost glutathione levels and increase liver function. According to the author Lee Smith N.D., "The best part of wakin up is coffee in your butt". Unique and informative reading. Review: Interesting subject - Good read for an interesting subject. I've wondered for years about Michael Landon using coffee enemas for cancer treatment to no avail. Still don't know the answer...

I felt like he info was a little disordered or that maybe Smith was repeating himself and jumping from here to there. I also felt he put a lot of info that was not pertinent to the topic, some political emotions perhaps. I have felt them too! I am happy for the book and the info inside. I don't mind the repetition as it helps me learn.

Not the best book about coffee enemas
This book is very fluffy, it does not have a lot of information about enemas regardless its length. There is a bit of history, a bit of this, bit of that served as an opinion rather than actual facts. The editing is simply awful with the italic letters. The religious aspect is something that I personally not interested in reading. The title should be changed to something that includes the alert of the religious content.
