Q: Are the lenses glass?

I think they were, although they only lasted until 1 day past the return date! The side arm broke completely off at the hinge! Not worth replacing, also found them to be very heavy! I would not order them again! Found some nice cat eyes; 4 pairs for less than the Peepers cost and they are glass and light weight. Hope this helps.
