This little radio is really a good choice for the price. It has good sound and is lightweight so easily carried. I really like it for my listening preferences. The only drawback I have found is that the station selection is not as detailed as the larger and older (a few decades older) radio I had to replace. It takes me just a little longer to find the exact spot of the station I want. Overall, this is a very good radio.

I absolutely love it, it's simple to use, light, picks up fm and am perfectly, and is just a great radio for the price. The speaker is great, and I like how simple it is in general. I also like that it can have both battery and auxiliary, making it perfect for my room, which already has so many things plugged in.

I am pleasantly surprised by the excellent sound quality, volume and "fullness" of the sound, and the reception of this unassuming radio. Yes, some of us still listen to old-fashioned analog radio, whether at the beach or in the garage while working on a project. If the thing gets knocked over, or wet, I'd rather it be an inexpensive analog radio than my iPhone or tablet! I bought this to replace a way-much older portable radio from a major manufacturer that finally died when it got knocked over and fell on a hard surface. The sound quality had degraded on the older radio, but I stuck with it because it still worked well enough and still got decent reception to the stations that I like to listen to. I happen to live in a quiet area where my town is equidistant from two major, big-city radio markets, which are located about 70 or so miles away from my town in either direction. So it's been difficult to find a decent replacement radio because of my central location. Here's why: Newer radios get confused, waffling between the big urban stations broadcasting from one major city and the other one! These newer radios can pick up signals from both of those markets. Yet sometimes, even with that ability, my location ends up being a radio "dead zone" where I cannot get reception on most stations at all, except for one or two local FM stations that are nearby. When the "radio dead zone" kicks in, AM reception is shot; it's all static and buzz. So I've tried several different radios and they all got returned, except for this one. It's a keeper. I wish the manufacturer would make one with the same abilities that's also waterproof. The old radio that broke was actually a shower radio and I miss that. But I highly recommend this radio.

This is an attractive radio that sounds very good for the price paid. As an A/V enthusiast, I would recommend it if you are looking for a portable inexpensive AM/FM radio.

Amazing reception on AM and FM... Accurate dial, awesome D cell powered (I don't do plug in).... I own likely 60 plus radios, and this one is THE top performer for under $40 hands down. Having said all that, a couple of areas for improvement are speakers is a little "tinny" for music on FM to my tastes, and I'd like to see an actual tone knob rather than a high/low choice.. STILL a 5 star, even with the comments above.. Buy it... Do your homework prior to buying and you'll determine my experience isn't a one off....

I love this radio! I’ve been using a different brand for a long time and finally decided to try something new since the tuners kept going out in my old brand. This radio is above and beyond what I expected. It’s got a nice size speaker that gives lots of clear sounding volume. The overall style of the radio looks great and the tuning knobs feel solid and of quality. It takes 4D size, batteries. I use EBL rechargeable batteries and the EBL battery charger. I’ve gotten a couple of years worth of use out of the same set of rechargeable batteries which is used 24 hours a day and charged about every fifth or sixth day. It saves me a lot of money instead of purchasing non-rechargeable ones. I use the radio down at the barn where I don’t have a power outlet close by, so I use batteries. The barn environment is cold & moist in the winter, hot & dusty in the summer, and my horse sometimes bangs the radio around a bit. It continues to work flawlessly. This is my new favorite radio! I bought an extended three-year warranty for a few bucks just in case since it’s used pretty hard in the barn, but so far so good. Absolutely no issues.

This radio is really good for the price. It works well. Best I have found after buying and returning a couple of other ones. My husband uses it when he's outside listening to ball games. Battery operated or you can plug it in. The seller also gets 5 stars. I had a question about the radio and they were very quick to get back to me and solve my problem.

I live more than 60 miles from the AM broadcast station I listen to. I have a $200.00 C Crane radio that I am comparing this low dollar radio too. The C Crane radio does not receive and play as well as this radio. The signal is weak coming in, and both radios have background fuzz/static but, this radio put side by side with the C Crane does a little better job than the expensive C Crane. The fuzz coming from the C Crane is not tolerable for me to listen to, this radio is such that some fuzz sounds is present, but I can listen to it. The only reason I have three stars instead of five is the radio was shipped in the manufactures box. It should have been in that box and then in an Amazon type more heavy duty shipping box. The box it arrived in is thin and was ripped and tattered and someone taped the top flap down with masking tape. The owners manual was missing. So, minus one star for each of those negative aspects. The radio itself was not damaged, is nice and works really good, especially for the money.
