Close shave for sensitive skin.
I have been using a rotary shaver for the past 3 yrs however, even with changing the blades regularly, no longer provides a decent shave and I always end up with ‘5 o’clock shadow’ by 11am! After trying, unsuccessfully, to switch to a straight razor again (I have very sensitive skin and end up with cuts all over no matter if I use sensitive shaving gel and aloe coated blades) I started to do some research and this electric shaver was the clear winner. It is not a cheap shaver but you do get what you pay for. It has a sonic cleaning setting, is smaller and lighter in the hand than expected, and also a lovely high spec finish. Also comes with a good quality case, double headed cleaning brush and oil for the blades. It gives the closest shave to a straight razor I’ve ever experienced, and the beauty is it leaves no cuts or red/irritated skin. For any potential buyers, it only had a two pronged plug, so an adapter is needed for a standard UK 3 prong socket. Highly recommended.

Didn’t think a shaver could be this good
I’m a long time (>10 years) devotee of wet shaving with a double edge safety razor and I love the clean comfortable feel that I get from shaving with one. You can’t rush a proper wet shave, though, so I’ve been thinking about adding an electric shaver for quick tidy ups on dark mornings when I’m running late and don’t have time for a proper shave. Something which I could chuck in my hand luggage for a business trip was also important, as you can only have safety razor blades in hold bags. Some research led me to either a higher end Braun or a Panasonic for the best shave. Received wisdom appears to be that a Braun is slightly more comfortable but that Panasonic shaves closer. I figured both would be poor compared with wet shaving so I picked the (much) cheaper Panasonic. Dry shaving performance is ok, gives a decent close shave but also the vague feeling of having sandpapered your face that I remember from youthful experiments with electric shaving. Certainly better than I expected, but nothing remarkable. Used wet, with a shaving oil or a low, slick coating of shave cream, it’s very very good. On the cheeks and chin, the shave is as close as my safety razor, under the chin it struggles a bit more to get the skin baby smooth, but still gives a perfectly acceptable result. Best of all, there’s no irritation. Total time to shave is under 3 minutes. Charges from flat in an hour or so, and battery seems to be on track to last a couple of weeks, so it’ll handle a week away or a business trip without any problem. Comes with a basic but serviceable travel case, and the cover to protect the foils should keep it safe from knocks. It won’t make me give up my safety razor, but it’s a fantastic piece of kit, and I’m very happy with it. Can’t see any reason to cough up for a Braun series 9 when this is half the price.

reasonably good
It arrived quickly seems well made. I have always wet shaved & have never used an electric shaver, it gives a good dry shave while not as close as a wet shave if you do it in the morning it lasts reasonably all day. I have never wet shaved with it. The side trimmers work well & don't cut your skin. It takes about an hour & a half to fuly charge from flat. The battery charge indicater 100/80/60/40/20 lasts quite a while when it's down to 20%. It comes with a bag for the shaver but there's not any room for the 2 pin plug & wireing & you will need to carry a multi plug with you if you are not going to be near a 2 pin socket. where the end of the charge lead goes into the shaver it is quite hard to see the +/- so you have to check you have it the right way round. They should have made it fit just one way that would have been better. I have had it about a year & the blades are ok but not as sharp as they were.

almost as good as a razer
this has to the best electric razer I've ever had. impressive shave. its easy to clean. battery lasts aprox 1 week shaving every day with a strong growth, to start with might feel slightly weird due to razer head shape but the shave finishes is exceptionally good would recommend to anyone looking for a shave that's on par with a wet shave

Best shave ever.
I've used a rotary shaver for years but the last one barely lasted 4 years, and it was their top-of-the-range at the time. Now they've priced it so ridiculously high that I decided to look elsewhere. This Panasonic Arc5 had several really good reviews that I decided to try a different method and try a 'foil' shaver. I charged it fully and then gave it a light oiling (supplied...along with a small brush tucked away in the box). This has just given me the smoothest, and closest shave I've had in years....and I didn't have to press as much against my face. Now I'm going to be 84 next month so I've been shaving for a long time. I'll sum up by saying this shaver is good; really good.

Close Shave
5 stars, not sure why it was only allowing me to select 4 when I did this review. But on to the shaver, Ive wet shaved with a razor for years to give me a close shave and prolong the time it takes to then shave my head again. Now, you cant get closer than a razor fact, but it's a real faf and a bit of a pain in the backside that often takes a fair bit of time to do properly plus remembering to buy shaving foam when im running out. Ive tried alot of different shavers hoping something gets somewhat close to a razor, zero gapped clippers, zero gapped trimmers (great for taking the hair down before using a razor but never close enough). Foil shavers, better but do seem to irritate and struggle around the back of the head with natural contouring of your head, and Ive tried the remmington and bulldog skull shavers but they always seem to dull quickly and irritate the back of my neck. I had seen alot of reviews for the Panasonic Arc 5 and after A LOT of researching on this and the Braun series 9 watching comparison videos and reading reviews I pulled the trigger, and... bullseye. Just what I have been looking for, a quick, close shave with no irritation. Im genuinely impressed, yes not as close as a razor but its not far off. Id say its probably what my head feels like the next morning after shaving of an evening, so lets say 12 hours post shave and for how quick and easy this was to do that is actually amazing results. Highly recommend!

Good but NOT Excellent
Decided to treat myself to a new shaver to replace my 8 or so year old Braun 3080S. Read the reviews and decided on the Panasonic ES-LV67 at the great price of £105 on Amazon. The Braun is still going strong but I thought technology would have moved on and I could expect improvements. After two weeks usage I decided to write this review: The Panasonic gives a very good shave when used with a drop of supplied oil applied to the foil before shaving, without it is no better than the 3080S. The shave is smooth and comfortable and without irritation. The travel case supplied is nothing like the quality of the 3080S. At best it can be said to do the job. The Panasonic does however include a protective cover for the foil. The Panasonic is much lighter in weight and does not have the feel of solidarity of the Braun. The razor head is much larger and takes a bit of getting used to but with a little perseverance is very easy and effective in use. Time will tell if it is as robust as the Braun. Upon reading the supplied instruction book I discovered that the claimed rechargeable battery life is 3 years and is not user replaceable. The 3080S is still on its original battery and lasts for at least 6 shaves. A replacement foil and blades for the Panasonic is around £80 (around treble that of the 3080S) and is required at around 18 month intervals. In summary the Panasonic is a good product and provides a very good shave, but I am concerned over its longevity given its feeling of lack of robustness. I hope I am proved wrong.

A MUST BUY!!!
The best electric razor I have bought - now 80yrs old. The Braun Series 7 is now in the bin after 12 months. A far smoother shave in half the time - unbelivable how two products can be so different. Japananese steel rules. Even gets flat hairs under the chin and neck off.

Better than Braun
I used Braun shavers for many years and found this item while searching for a less expensive shaver to take on while travelling. This rhing shaves cleaner and with less sein Irritation than even the most expensive Braun. It can be cleaned easily with just a bit of Water. I am so satisfied that I exchanged it to become my every day shaver.
