P1sc Laser Distance Measure 147Ft Multi-Function Digital Mini Laser Distance Meter Tool

I was a little skeptical when I saw so many different models of what seems to be like the same item, but the seller was able to clarify it for me rather quickly. I ordered the P1sc through impulse just because it has a slightly higher range. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that this is the MicroUSB rechargeable version, as I do not want to fiddle with batteries. Right out of the box I decided to test its accuracy, and it is on point. I only had a ruler at my house but it is accurate to my ruler within ±.06" or so... Then I took it to work and decided to test it against a measuring tape from Stanley- and it was on the money as well.The compact size makes it easy to carry, but I'd suggest some carrying case or similar to help protect the lens and screen. I used a multi tool sheath to store it when not in use. The plastic material they use is tough, and the matte-satin like finish makes scratches hard to notice. The buttons are nice and firm, clicky so you know when you trigger it. The unit also has some sound feedback in certain modes so you know whether or not the unit is working or not when you cannot clearly see the laser. I would like to see a tripod threaded mount or similar on future iterations, or maybe a tripod mount adapter.I purchased this item for work, there are some jobs that is simply impossible to measure without a lift to reach it. With all the various modes, I found it easy to take approximate measurements (again no tripod mount to fix the unit in place) and allows me to quote jobs more accurately when the final product is installed in higher elevation than you would normally be able to reach.One minor drawback is the minimum distance, I haven't tested this part but as I said I only had a ruler at home, and I do not think it can reliably measure under 2 or 3 inches. But at that point a caliper is more suitable.If this tool has a way to mount on a tripod, or similar, and USB-C instead of microUSB, then it would be perfect in my books, I do not like to carry multiple different wires with me. Overall, for the money and accuracy, as well as a good design, I would recommend this product to anyone getting their first laser distance tool.
