Great oil for the price. Helps ALOT on cold starts
I am the type of guy who normally uses the top of the line oil like royal purple (40$-50$ for 5 Quarts). I recently started using this oil in my 04 Silverado with 210,000 miles. I've never had any engine issues whatsoever on my L59 5.3. I wanted to try this oil because first off, I was tired of spending well over $60 for 6 quarts of royal purple and a filter and I wanted to see if the "Magnatec" was just a gimmick or a thing these days (most products are with engine products). I have to say the oil definitely keeps the top end of the motor quiet with lifter noise on startup, especially in the winter which is what I wanted. Will continue to use this as the oil seems to hang around in the critical parts when the motor isn't running. With that being said, I have never had to tear down the motor and dont plan on it, so it is difficult to truly tell. Update as of 10/5/18: Getting ready to drain this out of my motor as it is time for an oil change. Dipstick and oil coloration still looks new even at 215,000 miles. This oil still helps on those cold starts where I used to get some lifter noise. Have not heard it since using this.

Great oil great price.
I'm doing a filter every 4-5k and oil every 8 or every other filter and this oil still passes my experience testing. I look at the color and feel it between my fingers . I have worked on European vehicles for over 20 years and was looking for a good high mileage maintenance oil that I could go above the typical 5-7k range . I wanted to see if I could double the intervals and so far so good I switched from motul to this in my daily family cars (nothing beats motul imo in tourtured sports/performance cars) I am saving money and getting a longer interval with no losses that I can detect in my not so sciency testing . So much so that I would like project farm to test this oil. The price I pay is slightly above Amazon basics Wich ive read is a fantastic oil but this is working so I didn't want to gamble

Great price for 5 quarts of oil. Will def repeat buy.
I baby my car, so I change oil every 2-3k miles (full synthetic). If you get the subscription it's around $15 per 5 quarts. Pretty damn good deal. Might just buy 5 jugs and call it a day for a while. Also my car takes 6 quarts so $30 for 10 quarts and by 4 more jugs later on. I'm happy. I bought the UltraClean version too. No issues. Not the best brand or type I'm sure, but probably better than any Valvoline. I definitely would not try pushing this oil any more than 5k per change, but like I said I baby my cars. This is not Mobil or Royal Purple, nor Amsoil. (Those claim to last 10k miles) For someone who changes oil frequently, or less than 5k miles, I'm sure this stuff is more than fine. I'm glad I found this type of oil and price on Amazon.

I've tried pretty much every oil....
Oil today is a lot different than it used to be. It really doesn't matter what manufacturer you go with. After building engines and tearing them apart for years. From racing cars at the local drag strip and just fixing up every day drivers I've learned that all that matters is keeping your oil regularly changed and using the right weighted oil for your driving behavior. Oil does not cause problems in an engine... poor maintenance does. Going too long between oil changes, running your engine under strenuous loads the oil weight can't provide enough protection against (aka high performance engines), ignoring car maintenance like replacing engine seals when they go bad, changing bad lifters, oil pumps, etc. and driving a car with mechanical issues and then blaming it on your oil when things go wrong is mostly what I've seen people do in my car repair lifetime. Castrol,Valvoline,Mobile 1, Quaker State... whatever you choose just make sure you get what's right for your application and intended purpose and change it 3K miles or 3 months and your engine will be just fine. This particular Synthetic GTX is 5W-30 it has a very fluent viscosity and will lubricate your engines components just fine. Your motor does not care at all what brand of oil is in it just so long as that oil is able to go through all the the little cracks, holes, and crevices in your engine and lubricate the components that need to be lubricated. Just make sure you keep that oil fresh and change it out when it's time. Most people decide to start buying expensive oil when their engine is already acting funny hoping that will fix the mechanical problem they're really having and then picking on the oil when the problem still persists. You'll never in your life hear a mechanic diagnosing a certain brand of oil as the cause for mechanical engine failure... but you will hear them diagnose a lack of maintenance as the cause for it.

Slick move
A beautiful looking light brown liquid that makes motors spin quietly. High quality, slick protection for your engine. Does leak, and keeps your engine clean. Won't break down in high rpm and high performance. Gotta love the smell of fresh oil in the afternoon

I have been using Castrol oil since 1973. Economical when purchased in 5 quart single Jug's.
Nothing to dislike about Castrol oil. Whether or not it is the best oil or not, I use it always. I have had engine's run for 250K miles without ever needing any work on the engine block or head's. Presently I run a 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with a 3.4 liter V-6. I have 144K miles on that so far. I also use Castrol in a 2001 Mazda Miata. 109K miles on that. Neither car burn's any oil nor does the oil darken, even after 3000 miles. Castrol sure is not hurting anything. It is economical when bought in 5 Quart single Jug's.

excellent oil
First, those reviews showing the oil leaking in the shipping box from amazon? they are not able to leak because the package I received had the 5qt jug in a sealed plastic bag! How can that leak? It can't.. Also, the date code on this jug was new oil, 120th day of 2020, so end of april beginning of may of production. Today it's august, so about 4months.. not bad. Now.. onto the oil. I've been using it in my civic (1996) for a couple years now. I've had the oil tested by blackstone and it's tested out to be awesome! No wearing, and I actually forgot to change my oil for about a year! I did not mean to do that, but had a personal issues take my concentration. But.. usually I only do 4-6 months intervals. so the testing after 1 year showed the same exact low wear that I have seen at the 6month mark! It does make the engine more quiet. I'd say about 10-15%! The fuel economy has increased in my engine or I should say it returned to what it should be. It does not burn off at all. this is excellent oil! Good job Castrol! And thanks to amazon to have the lowest price around and delivered in 2 days! Thanks!

Doing Great Job of cleaning and protecting engine from sludge in vehical that sat for five years
I have been waiting 5 years to have a successful pain pump surgery so that I can drive again. Well I am not going to be able to get pump so I will not be able to drive. So my 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade had sat over four years. So I purchased, a new battery, five new tires, changed the sludge motor oil with a much cheaper brand (because I new I was going to have to change it again) and the Jeep started right off and ran with no noise, so we would let it run every day and drive it when we were not doing the other work, I had to change out both rear parking break assemblies because of rust. When we finished everything else, we gave it an another oil change, at least this time the oil came out as just real dirty oil and not sludge. So we let it drain, then added one quart of Royal Purple sythentic because it is low viscoscity and then added the Castrol. The motor had a tiny tick which immediately dissappered. I have faith that the castrol in few a thousand miles will clean out the rest of the oil system and the oil come out like it should. BUT FOR AN ENGINE TO SIT ALMOST FIVE YEARS AND START RIGHT OFF REALLY SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THE 3.7 V6 JEEP MOTOR, I would not recommend letting an vehical sit that long.
