Frustrating assembly, MISSING HARDWARE, unlabeled parts.
Once assembled, this looks nice and seems sturdy. My one criticism of the assembled product is that the sides of the drawers are only half the depth of the drawer; storage capacity could have been more if their depth was the size of the space. As for assembly, it's tedious since you're assembling 5 drawers in addition to the chest. But the instructions for assembly are decent and fairly straightforward. The frustration of the assembly was not with the instructions or design, per se. But the parts are not labelled. So, even though the instructions show them as parts A, B, C etc, most of the items aren't labelled. NONE of the hardware is labelled, and most of it came in one bag, all jumbled together. And given that the instructions sometimes tell you to use the "blue" or "green" version of a similar piece of hardware, this assembly might be difficult for someone who is colorblind. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it was MISSING HARDWARE. I was able to scrounge parts to put it together (because that seemed easier than packing it up for return!) but it would be nice if all the parts were included!

Great piece of furniture, but......
This is a well built, sturdy, heavy piece of furniture. You can definitely tell it is made of MDF, but the appearance and solidness makes it doable. I would have given 5 stars, but the way it arrived had me a little nervous on whether or not I would have to return it. First of all, the box was damaged upon arrival. I opened the box, and it looked the the protective styrofoam had exploded or possibly melted. It was stuck to the pieces in different places. I had to scrape it off. Also, a couple of the pieces were damaged and I honestly couldn't tell if it was the styrofoam, or if the veneer had chipped off in a couple of places. Luckily I had some wood markers and was able to touch up the spots and it looks good, but not the best. You would have to look very hard to find the imperfections.Putting it together was no problem, you just have to take your time and read and assemble as you go. It's like wood cutting, measure twice, cut once. Read the instructions twice (or more) and go along as they suggest.Hope this helps, would I buy it again, Yes.

Worth it!
After reading reviews I expected at least one issue. Unfortunately I ended up having to request a replacement drawer slide as one of the wheels on mine came damaged. Not sure if that was Prepac or poor package handling from a third party. Part took a while to get here, but after it was all said and done I do think this dresser is worth the money and of better quality than what I thought it would be. Very cute and quite tall (almost the size of me and I’m 5’3). Use a drill, pay attention to the instructions, don’t put the base on upside down like I did and you’ll be fine lol.

Very good for low cost furniture.
I am so impressed with Prepac. Not knowing who they are, and considering the lower prices compared to other brands, I did not expect such quality. Now I know who they are. Their plant is in British Columbia, Canada. What a treat. Not made in China.Of course, it is mostly MDF construction, but a high quality MDF. Better yet, the drawer sides which hold most of the stress of holding the drawers together are actually made of real wood. The drawer runners are steel with rollers. No sticking drawers. The drawers open almost all the way, unlike some furniture that only opens half way because they are cheaply made without steel tracks for support.Prepacs only downfall may come from within. The top of one piece had damage that could only have happened in the plant. Being extremely well packed and no damage to the cartons in shopping, I was shocked when I removed the heavy corner protector and found the corner broken, plus scratches on the top itself. I was short four pieces of hardware on the other dresser which prevented me from finishing the last drawer front. By the way, I bought two (2) of these dressers.I filled out an on-line claim form for the replacement parts. Within an hour, I had an automated response, assuring me they received it. By the next morning, I had a promise of shipping withing two days. I received a personally written email from customer service telling me what they were doing to make it all right. As I said, I bought two of these dressers, thinking that if it turns out to be "cheap stuff" I could return one. I had no trouble deciding to keep them both and assembly was easy. Someone said it took them eleven hours to assemble one piece. I had easy to follow instructions and both dressers together were finished in 3 to 4 hours.I give Prepac a solid 5 stars for quality, 5 stars for customer service, and 4.5 stars for quality control.

Poor instructions and some other issues...
The instructions were poor and most of the pieces are NOT labeled. I was able to build it mainly because I have built many of these things over the years. But the biggest issue was that the screws for the drawer hardware were too short. I was able to drill out the hole a little bit to make it long enough but I assume many people will have an issue with that. Had I known what I know now I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Arrived in Perfect Condition - Solid Product
Unlike some here, ours arrived in perfect condition. There were no broken parts, no scratches, no dings, no short parts, everything just right and perfect. Packaging was designed to take a bit of rough handling, but a drop on a corner would have, of course, made the entire 89# package unusable; it is not chimp proof. It is amazing how CNC has created such a package where all the parts fit perfectly with each other. For assembly, I started using Titebond III, putting a drop or two in the holes where inserts were dropped or screwed in. The glue will strengthen the local fibers. Also used on drawer ends for the butt assembly; it is good cabinet practice not to glue the drawer floor, however - let it float. Yes, they could do a few things differently - like mark the side panels as to which is UP and which is Right and Left, and indicate in the Instructions which direction the polymer coated side is to go for the base and the upper cross reinforcing block. Look at the Instructions and your parts several times before proceeding. For the drawer sides, I did all the Right together and Left together, making sure I had the bottom groove positioned correctly and was going from the correct end to mount the rails. Only one problem: when I attached one of the drawer fronts, one of the small zinc cams bent and failed. Would have been nice to have had a spare large/small cam. Especially if you use Titebond III for assembly, the resulting structure is quite sturdy. The drawers have this solid feel as they easily roll in and out. And No, they do not fall out when you pull - you have to lift up the front of the drawer to remove drawer. With all the fine lumber in British Columbia, one would like to have had solid wood drawer fronts, side styles, and top - could be done with minimal extra expense. Too bad this is not available at any local furniture stores - you could save at least $80 on the UPS shipping, pricing it just right then.

Needs quality control
I was really looking forward to this chest. It’s a very nice looking picture. After I’m done with it, it looks very nice in real life.I think I’m being generous with a three star overall review, and here it why. It’s not to discourage people. I’ve looked at other people’s reviews, and I assume that I just got a faulty product. Two button drawers had to be adjusted (grooves did not match side boards). The upper drawer was a disaster to adjust. It’s fair to say I had to build it from the ground up. No part matched another part. I am not even going list the issues. Complete mismatch.I am lucky to have a full set of tools and spare parts (including electrical) to make adjustments. Some parts were paint unfinished, so I had to mark those up.Overall I spent 6 hours.I’m sorry to say, but I had a bad experience with this product.A word of consolation, after I’m done with it, it looks very nice.

Impressed then Disappointed then.....Impressed again!
The weight of the box was very impressive. It is heavy material for particle board. This will be a nice Dresser for the space I have available and the price is right but there are a couple of issues to iron out first. One of the drawer fronts is damaged and I've had to send for a replacement part. That is of course if the company sends it to me.The second issue is that I am one of those people who actually reads instructions and looks at those pictures. Many previous reviews complain of there only being pictures to go by. WELL, I don't have any instructions. Not even the pictures and that would have been very handy in deed.I'm going to have to guess on the steps necessary and hope I don't have to undo whatever I do. Particle board doesn't take kindly to repeated use of the same screw holes.UPDATE: I filed a missing part claim with Prepac and they are sending out the broken drawer front. Super fast response, really easily to submit and it'll be sent within 24 hours. THey also sent me an emailed copy of the instructions today (less than 8 hour response time). I'd have to say they've gone the distance to make the customer happy.I am very satisfied with the customer service they provide. And I think once I get this dresser assembled I'll like it as well. Hope this helps everyone who is concerned about the service you recieve in the event something does get damaged in shipment.THANK YOU PREPAC
