Strap is not in correct position
UPDATED from below. I was able to use a hammer to dislodge the end brackets, and move the strap - problem solved.Please notice on Amazon picture that the strap is out toward the end of the bar, however when I received - the strap was right next to the bar - making it almost useless. I got (2) replacements - all with the same problem. Ashamed, as have ordered other items from same manufacturer, and all wonderful. Unfortunately the strap cannot be moved.

BUYER BEWARE!
The images on this product are deceptive. I thought I was receiving the complete set to install a horizontal grab bar. It only includes the one bar. Without the other 2 bars, which are $250 a piece, I have a useless grab bar that I can’t use. To return for a refund you must pay $30. Expect to spend over $600 dollars if you want what is shown in the sales images. I doubt I’m the only one who thought they were buying 3 poles. Not happy at all!

What a great addition to my incapacity toolbox!
After my stroke, I found that the transfer pole was an invaluable tool and a great investment. The grab bar attachment gives me a handy grip, and extends my reach where I can grab it from a lying position and get myself upright. The grab bar really makes the pole even more useful. I love this thing.
