Can I use this in a regular 7 1/4 inch circular saw with 5/8 inch arbor?

Yes, you can use this with a 5/8 inch arbor. It is even stamped on the left side 5/8 with diamond knockout.

I need to cut an opening for a 30" wall oven. Will this blade be able to provide a very fine cut?

I used it to cut the bottom of two wood doors and it was fine enough for that. Usually, if you're cutting a wall, I would cut it by hand or with a reciprocating saw. Using a circular saw will cause a dust storm. Plus, the wall oven usually has a lip on it, and the cut doesn't have to be that fine because the edge of your cut will never be seen.

Can this blade cut a butcher block countertop 1.5 inches thick

Yes, 60TH + is best for butcher block cutting. Yes, the 7-1/4" blade will cut 1.5" butcher block

Will this blade cut 1/2inch hdpe without gumming up the blade?

I don't know for sure but I would think the friction of the blade would heat things up enough to gum up the teeth. I think a reciprocating saw ( saber saw) or a band saw is what you want and you can vary the blade speed to find out what works best.

still leaves some shreadding

I got this to do drawers with plywood or 1 x 8 wood, but I still see some splintering. Not that one can't just do something about it, but not that much for that many teeth on the blade, no?

Great saw blade for plywood, Does not work for 2x4's though. The part with the writing is a few millimeters thicker than the cutting edge of the blade, So it bogs down if you cut anything deeper than 2"
