I want to connect my lg dvd home theater to my tv. the lg is unlocked and i can play dvd from any zones (mainly europe). will this device work?

If your dvd player has component video output (identified by separate red, green and blue RCA female connectors) then yes. Otherwise, no. I don't believe so, because the audio input is RCA left/right. So there is no 5.1 input.
