I bought this and re-ground it to be a negative rake scraper, I very happy with the results, it heavy and well made and does a fantastic job of scraping bowls.

Excellent steel! Very well made.
I bought this and the set of right and left scrapers to grind amd modify to make a set of negative rake scrapers. They are extremely sturdy and the quality of the steel is superb! I have used a slow speed grinder on them and it takes two hours or more to shape one of them because of the hardness of the steel. They hold a great sharp edge. After grinding the edges, I use a set of diamond sharpening plates to put a final edge on them and then a card scraper burnishing tool to curl a burr. Cuts shaving like a razor! Leaves a very smooth surface with little need for sanding.

Nice scraper
I like the thickness of the scraper...seems to make it a more stable tool to scrap with. Keep it sharp and it does a wonderful job on the inside of bowls. Took the appearance of the inside of my bowls up several notches. Works great on the outside of the bowls, as well.
