Not a good read, not a mystery either
Absolutely awful! A terrific premise, a children's mystery that might interest them in the history of Jamestown. I purchased for my 10 year old daughter prior to a trip to Jamestown. There was no mystery - just silly notes the children would receive, which had no connection to the supposed mystery. The dialog was stilted and stiff so not only not a mystery, but no fun to read. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The only plus was it told a little about the sights to see at Jamestown.

History is fun
I was not sure if this would be too much for my 3rd grader. We love the plot, the characters, great history lesson to go with what we are learning and good ending. Cannot wait to read more from this series.

I think it is kinda boring but it isn't about me
Ok, I think it is kinda boring but it isn't about me! My two homeschooled kiddos love it and it is a nice change-up to teaching this era of history.

Carole Marsh Stories
It is a great read. After visiting the Charlestown Shipyard and Old Ironside with my 5th graders, it was fun to listen to them talk about things in the book that were similar to what they saw on our field trip.
