No. A strong person can pull the lock off.

Q: what are the dimensions of the lock? Some bottles have necks that taper faster than in the picture. What's the smallest size bottle that would work?

It works with375 ml or 750 ml also works on wine bottles.

Q: Will this fit a bottle of Crown Royal?

Hi Jennifer-- I can't answer with 100% certainty, but I was able to get the Tantalus to fit a handle of Bacardi Rum and a handle of New Amsterdam Vodka. Both bottles are large at the top. I had to slide the lock up a little to get it to fit. Based on my experience, I would expect it to fit over a bottle of Crown. --David

I tried it on a half a gallon of georgie and it fits perfect I don't know if this helps hope it does
