Does this work like oxiclean on colored clothes?

Yes, however all our ingredients are all natural and from the United States. We do not add any surfactants or optical brighteners. If you look at the OxiClean, you will notice blue dots throughout. Those are optical brighteners, a chemical additive that is used to trick your eyes into thinking that your whites are whiter and brighter when in actuality, they are not.

Our Oxygen Whitener can be used for colors too - we just suggest you test an area for color fastness because some fabrics/dyes do not adhere well and you could get fading. It does not fade most all colors though!

Question 2

How strong is the scent of the lemon? I'd like to use this on my salon towels, but do not want them to smell like anything after drying.

The lemon scent dissipates most of the way in the washer. I could not tell much if any scent in the dried clothes. I had a mix of towels, 100 % cotton light clothing and socks and other personal items. The towels smelled just like my towels washed in unscented. The unscented is available again if you prefer that, but the lemon is nice in the wash and then  due to real essential oils being "voilitile" (disperse into the air), it dissipates. I'd say you are safe. fyi, if in a hurry at work, don't inhale any powder dust! I inhale before I scoop, pour into the water stream.

How does it work against oil stains?

For oil stains, the secret is to cut through the grease. This is why we recommend Dish Soap as a backup; however our Stain Spray is packed with active enzymes designed to target fats and oils. Spray with Stain Spray and work into the fabric. Rinse and repeat. Repeat several times until the stain is removed. We recommend using the hottest water that is safe for the garment since it will help cut through the grease. Wash as usual.
