So far so good hair been up for a week now usually with other products my scalp would be itching but not with this lion loc holding cream because it's not a gel so I had doubts about it holding but like I said 1 week and it's still holding ang at my job is hot sooooooo I sweat hard everyday so in my opinion this is the best product I've used I also like there sprays they all smell the same

This product is beyond amazing and should be number #1 rated over the known loc product of Jamacian mango and lime. Yes! That's right! I said that right! This product is better than Jamacian Mango and Lime.My issues with products:My issue with products is the build up it leaves in my hair. My hair is locked (obviously) so when buildup enters the loc its tends to just stay there. Later discoloring and weakening the loc and eventually cause it to break off because a loc detox can only go but so far (which I hope this brand eventually does soon too). Another issue I face with products is the ability to hold the newly twisted hair and not let it go, making my loc heavy or overly oily, which then leaves a weird residue on my clothes, pillow, or making my scarf smell funny.When the product arrived:The first thing I saw with the product is that it takes a while for it to spill over, so the product isn't runny but it also isn't a stiff clunk either. Its smooth. I won't lie, I was scared that it was white and immediately thought it would leave build up. Until I place the substance in my hand and rubbed it into my fingers and it was complete TRANSPARENT. It's like re twisting with oil but in a gel form that holds. It was a relief to see. Its contains oil, and it also contains aloe vera gel for the hold and moisture for our locs, because getting in between the shafts can be tricky with a regular oil routine.My experience both re-twist and post re-twist:I re-twist my hair once a month. I have psoriasis on my scalp and im a mixed child so my locs form differently with the new growth so I try not to over stress my hair so they don't break. This product is great to use when you don't have a re-twist. In between re-twist I apply the product where I would want it to lay flat or in a form of a ponytail, Brush it through with a soft bristle brush, and apply a scarf and it lay flat as if my locs had a press! Not only does it lay it flat, it makes it super soft. Like no more crunchy locs or stiff locs, thank God! Especially during the winter when your locs get dry and brittle this product is officially my go to.My hair is my pride and joy not because of the length but because the effort and time I put into it for it to remain strong and healthy.Con: when I do use the product for a retwist for the one time of the month it does not hold as much in the front of my crown than the back. But when it is retwisted its a soft retwist that stays and doesnt feel hard or stresses out your hair. I think to resolve the issue I just have to have the front of my hair in a style if I can manage or lay it flat with a breathable scarf for a few days until the loc cures.Things you didnt know about this product:If you think this product is only for locs you are mistaken. My sisters and I are all biracial but their hair is out in its natural 4A-4B hair type fro. Ive watched my sisters use this mousterizing gel for their twist out and watch it be beyond bomb. I even let a friend of mine with 3B hair texture use it for her dominican curls and watch them stay put with no frizz after her wash and go. I’ve used this product to retwist a friend hair and it was great! That’s what made me purchase this product. Today was my first time receiving the product of my own. And the container was cracked open. Only a little bit got on the outside of the container, I really just don’t like the fact that the lid can’t seal close properly because of the crack. This probably should’ve most definitely had some bubble wrap or be delivered in a box. Next time I will order from their direct website since Amazon doesn’t care to package it properly.

I purchased this in August of 2023 and the hopes that it would help keep my hair locked after retwisting. I tried a number of different products (ie aloe gel, aloe gel and a shea butter mixture, I kind a couple of other famous loc brand gels but neither seem to work.) They either created visible build up in my hair or did not hold the actual retwist for more than a couple of days after...BUT THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE, OH IT WORKS!I was a little hesitant the first time with using it so I might have went a little overboard with how much I put on each lock, but as the instruction says you only need about a dime or a nickel sized dollop. I ordered the firm formula and with how thick my hair is, trust me it holds. (And believe me, my hair is THICCCC)Ordering my second container now. If you're hesitant, don't be- it's worth it.

While this product is creamy and hydrates, it doesn't last long. Maybe 2 days. Still searching.

I washed my hair the night before in anticipation of it getting here. It smells nice and is SO LIGHT!!!! My hair was so shiny and pretty when I was done. I wrapped my hair in a scarf and put a bonnet on top of it last night (hair was longer than scarf) so that it would set well. I wanted to try something new with twisting my dreads. I have used another product for almost 20 years. I love the smell and you only need to use a little of the product. It truly holds for a long time! I don't retwist often-maybe every other month. The directions say to use on shampooed hair. After the 2nd time using it, I washed the hair the night before, and when my hair was dry I retwisted my hair. Wow and another wow, major difference! All positive!! My retwist looked tremendously better and healthy looking! I thought I had went to the shop and got my hair done professionally! It's a little pricey but the jar last me months! So it truly worth the cost!! I'm now a customer for life!!
