They performed as expected... I had broken a cheaper set of taps purchased a few days earlier (a mistake i wont make again). Will buy the same brand (Kodiak) again if the need arises for different sizes..

I've tapped a lot of holes with few failures like this, so I'm not very happy with this purchase. And so far, I've not been able to get the broken tap out. A real problem.

I purchased a multi-size set prior to this and the 1/4-20 tap broke. It was also only a taper set of taps too. So even if that tap didn't break, I wouldn't have been able to properly finish my project.Bought these taps and it's night and day difference between those cheap multi-size sets.These taps worked wonderfully on aluminum rails with a power drill.

This set of taps cuts threads like butter. I turned the tap chuck by hand on the lathe.....the chuck! I didn’t even use the handles on the tap wrench. If you’ve been using taps from a “bargain” tap and die set, you’ll be amazed at what a difference these quality taps can make.....both in ease of use and the resulting beautiful threads.

These are the best taps I have ever used. Easily and quickly taps cold and hot rolled steel. I have not tried them on aluminum, but when I do I anticipate good results. I have already purchased a 10-24 set and will be purchasing other sizes as the needed. I have always had good results with Kodiak products.

All three broke without completing one tap.

I've only used these taps once on an aluminum engine block, so no great strain, but they did the job. They are very nicely finished and arrived in a useful 3-compartment plastic storage case. I will definitely buy from Kodiak again.

Having been used to using the cheap cheese grade taps, you can imagine how impressed I was when I tapped a few holes in some steel and it felt like I was tapping butter, these things cut great, very sharp. I'd never try to power tap with those cheese grade taps you buy in the boxed sets, but I've been power tapping with these with no issue. Hardly a reason to even break the chip they cut so well.
