WORKS GREAT! SAY “BYE BYE” TO MISSING A STUD!
Amazing & works perfectly! This is very easy to use and very accurately finds where the stud is at. I love how small and compact it is along with the accuracy being on point! My husband and I are happy with our purchase!

tricky to get it working
This thing works great--when you know how to use it properly. You have to have the device against the wall before turning it on. While holding it against the wall, press and hold the button on the side (it will do one long beep and the light will stay green- DONT LET GO OF THE BUTTON), now swipe it across the wall. It will beep and glow red once you've found a stud.If you press the power button before contact with the wall, it will give false readings. It's a great bang for buck (I'm just hanging shelves nothing serious), but it's a bit frustrating to get working right away. Also it doesn't come with a 9V battery, so there's that.

Great stud detector!
It works! It even detected some pex people water lines! Easy to use just follow the directions. My cons are that it's plastic and because I don't use it often enough, I have to take the 9V battery out when I'm not using it but that's my preference. Overall it's a solid stud detector.

Easy to use!
I've seen people use various stud finders and never had the need for one, until now. Me? I don't use tools! I tried it and it works like a charm. I found the stud right away after reading the instructions. If I can do it, ANYONE can. I highly recommend.

Inconsistent Most Times But Occasionally Works
I had high hopes for the Craftsman stud finder given the brand reputation, but it’s been a mixed experience. When it works, it does find studs fairly quickly, and the screen is easy to read. However, the main issue is consistency — sometimes it clearly locates a stud, and other times it gives false positives or can’t find the stud at all, even in places I know there’s framing. I’ve had to double-check with other methods or devices, which defeats the purpose. For light, occasional use, it might be okay, but if you’re doing more precise work or hanging anything heavy, I’d be cautious depending on this alone.

Works like a champ!
This works very well, and has become a valued member of my toolbox. Lightweight, easy to use, and i haven't missed a stud yet with it!

Worth less than worthless.
I have been a DYI'r my whole life, nothing I can't do. As I have gotten older and can afford the better things in life, I buy the better things, but always open to a good value bargain. So, when I had a closet rack fell down, I went to the garage to discover my old stud finder was deceased. Began my search on Amazon, and local hardware stores and reading some reviews. I was determined to get a 'good one' this time around. Found the Craftsman one at the local hardware store, and just touching it made my blood run cold.... flimsy. However, I later read a review which I thought was real (it wasn't) that rated the Craftsman as second....only to a unit that costed 5 or 6 times as much. My frugal side got the better of me. OMG....this thing finds nothing. And yes, I know how to use it. You can make the same pass and it will find two studs in an 8" pass, and then repeat it, and find no studs for 36"s. Since it was in the back of a closet, I found the first stud with my drill, and all others every 16". Once I had them marked, I tried the stud finder again. Absolutely couldn't find ANY of them. Use the $10 to light your BBQ grill, cus spending it on this stud finder will return less benefit.

Best little MUST HAVE gadget EVER!
I just purchased this handy dandy little gadget.TWICE neighbor girl came over looking for my 'stud finder' as she wanted to hang a shelf. borrowed her mine and then went online and bought her one for herself...told her she is going to NEED THIS little gadget FOREVER, saying to her, with a laugh, 'don't give it to your dad.you'll never see it again.' She loves it so much, I got big hugs from her for thinking of her. So I decided that I needed to buy another for my niece who just moved into her own apartment. Tell you what ,if you know young people who are out on their own and will often struggle as to 'how to' hang anything on a wall without it falling down (which ,in my own personal experience, looking back, would always be in the middle of the night, and it would scare the bejeezes out of me) This is small, easy to use and just about anyone who has ever hung anything on a wall, would love to have ! this is a great little gadget, saves one from having to make SEVERAL holes in the wall just to hang ONE thing! I remember my mother trying to hang things.alot of what she hung on the wall would have up to 5 extra unused holes in the wall behind whatever she hung up(laugh) This also works especially well for when you need to hang a curtain rod and want to be sure you anchor the mounting brackets to the stud and not the sheetrock....anchors work.kinda. Until they don't....then you're left with a huge hole in the wall from the anchor that pulled out due to the weight .( I learned this from experience, so allow my experience to spare you the pain of having to make repairs to your walls ,the way I used to have to) This operates on an easily found 9volt battery (not included). Will last for years!!!! It is an indispensable item for anyone who has ever wanted to hang ,or hans hung, anything of 'weight' on their wall.. It is well worth the cost effective price. it will cost you more to repair/patch your wall and replace what was broken when it fell off the wall because you didn't hit the stud. AND I really like that this little gadget lets you know when you are at the edge of a stud. VERY HELPFUL! You want to be dead on center when at all possible.especially if you're hanging a mirror..... not that I can say I don't enjoy the sound of breaking glass.....but it's rather dangerous to clean up that kind of mess. Yep. Everyone should have one of these.
