Master’s Collection Matcha

I chose Naoki Chiran Harvest. This is my first intro to matcha and ordered a starter kit from Amazon. This matcha tastes so smooth and creamy! It was not bitter at all. Very pleasant. I loved it so much, I decided to make a second one and add pistachio syrup. And wow! It was even better! I am proud to say I’m a matcha girl now! I’m so glad I tried this, as it will be part of my daily routine from now on. The color is vibrant green and I think the container will last a while because you don’t need a lot. The tin says to use it within 2 months for freshness. It expires in May 2025, I got this in August 2024. It came sealed with plastic outside the tin, and the inside is a sealed bag. I would buy this again!

Pictured is my matcha latte. Let me tell you, I've tried the base version of Naoki and it was okay. I decided to give it another chance at a higher tier and boy, I am impressed. I used to get maede-en matcha (black & gold) and do Jonetz (Japanese grocery store exclusive) since I am VERY particular about my matcha. Today, I found a match and it comes at a more affordable price point and tastes delicious —a wonderful value! If you are particular about matcha and an enthusiast, I highly recommend! I will also try their other higher end tiers. Thoroughly impressed.

PICTURES left can is yame fragrance collection, center is new Chiran masters collection from Naoki directly, right amazon ordered Chiran masters collection muddy color matcha is my first purchase from amazon, the vibrant color match is the same product shipped directly from NAOKI. So here is the low down, I ordered this Naoki ceremonial grade master collection single harvest matcha. To my disappointment what was sent to me from amazon was this terrible matcha that screamed cheap culinary grade being sold as premium new age matcha. The color was dull and brownish that looked like dirt to me. It even felt gritty to finger. My first cup had the sensation of chalk or baking flower in my mouth . The flavor was decent and not bitter but it had a dead taste with no vibrance. It did froth rather well though. In general I was not happy with this matcha and would return if I could. It is the worst matcha I have ever come across and I don’t consider this ceremonial grade, I want to toss it in the trash but don’t want to waste $34+ READ this!!! I email this company with my complaints, they responded within 72 hours and assured me that what I recieved was a mistake and that they wanted to make it right. The took my information and within 1 week they sent me a new container with a second variety to try. Thank you Naiki for the gift! With excitement and anticipation I opened the new can and to my surprise what was inside was a completely different product. It resembled all the other photos and reviews I have read. The color and smell were both vibrant and rich as you would expect from a ceremonial grade matcha. This match froths very well and when you do a smear test you can barely tell its not stone ground. (the manufacture verified its not stone ground) It feels smooth to touch and sticks to everything just like stone ground matcha. My first sip I notice it was smooth and creamy in texture, the flavor was rich and had the umami you would expect from a premium Matcha. And to my biggest surprise was the sweetness that you get. So what I received from Amazon was trash but this company does produce a great product and would recommend you try this product because even if amazon is at fault for damaging the matcha this company will make it right !!! FYI the fragrance yame is good too! just one notch down from this masters collection! Happy buying, give them a try, Ill be back for a second take !

I’m always on the hunt for a nutty, bold matcha that: is available on Amazon (readily accessible) and can stand up to almond milk. I am a daily matcha latte drinker. I’ve tried quite a few on Amazon that just didn’t wow me. I always use the same ratio of matcha 3 g and the same amount of almond milk. The last Naoki variety I tried was the Fragrant Yame based upon reviews and tasting notes on their website. It had potential but got lost in the almond milk. I emailed them to ask them which one I should try to satisfy my nutty, bold, complex desire and they recommended the Chiran Harvest Masters. I must say, this surprises me. It is nutty, has a deep emerald color, a smooth mouthfeel, not bitter, and stands up to the almond milk. I’d go so far to say it compares to some of the matchas I’ve previously purchased directly from Japan - but this one is readily accessible! I don’t have to wait 2+ weeks for shipping! If you’re looking for a similar nutty matcha, definitely give this one a shot. I’m happy!

Not a bad matcha, I feel this is a good starter matcha. The flavor is very mild, but you can bring the flavor up if you need more. I feel like I get more floral notes from this, and ai prefer umami and nutty flavors. Still a solid choice, worth trying, especially for the price.

I suffer from both a matcha addiction and decision paralysis...After lots of sifting through tiktok and reddit (specifically for nutty blends,) this one came highly recommended. I am by no means a purist, I just love a nice nutty flavor for my daily lattes. I have to say this one is delicious! It tastes like toasty pistachios, and pairs very well with vanilla and ube. I didn't find it to be bitter, it was creamy/ foamed up nicely, and the color is very rich. I think this brands overall pricing is fair , for a notable step up from store bought matcha. It is also a big plus that it's readily available on here! I would definitely use it as my daily matcha :)
